Glee actress Jenna Ushkowitz and Vampire Diaries star Michael Trevino have reportedly ended their three year romance, which Jenna confirmed at the red carpet premiere of The Normal Heart earlier this week.
She told the press, “No, we’re not together anymore,” but didn’t seem particularly hung up on the issue. Clearly, it was either a long time coming or she’s already over it by now. The two initially started dating in 2011, and they were still together as of four months ago. However, that’s when rumors concerning Michael’s relationship with TVD co-star Nina Dobrev started heating up.
There’s absolutely nothing to suggest [or confirm] that Michael left Jenna for Nina, but it certainly looks that way, doesn’t it? First, we get reports of Nina and Michael hooking up. Then, we get reports that Nina is struggling to decide between Michael and Ian Somerhalder. And now, we get confirmation that Michael has broken up with his longtime girlfriend, even though they were still together four months ago.
Of course, it could all just be a matter of coincidence – but after examining celebrity relationships under a microscope, things are very rarely chalked up to coincidence or happenstance. It’s very possible that Michael fell in love with Nina and broke it off with Jenna, even if he knew that Nina would eventually get back together with Ian.
Then again, Nina’s technically ‘single,’ despite engagement rumors, so maybe she’s still having trouble deciding between Michael and Ian. Michael did just break up with his girlfriend, so she might be worried about his emotional readiness for another relationship. But is that any better or worse than dating her own ex-boyfriend who may or may not have cheated on her?
