Looks like Blake Lively’s new year is getting even busier. She’s is one of five actresses being considered for a role in the latest superhero remake, The Green Lantern. If Blake lands the part, she’ll star opposite Ryan Reynolds (the uber-hot actor set to play the Green Lantern) as his love interest, Carol Ferris.

Since we haven’t brushed up on our classic comics yet (or at all), here are the deets about Blake’s possible new role: "Per the script, Carol Ferris (27) is the daughter of aerospace mogul Carl Ferris. She works for her dad’s company FERRIS AIR, got an MBA, and has a lifetime crush on Hal Jordan/Green Lantern."
And did we mention, Carol Ferris has BLACK HAIR! We can’t imagine our favorite GG blonde with dark tresses, but we can imagine her in comic book influenced fashions. You’re all thinking it, so we’ll just come out and say it: Blake’s bodacious bod is *so* meant to inhabit the fantasies of comic book nerds everywhere.
Don’t get too excited, friends. The role’s definitely not in Blake’s bag yet! She’s got some very stiff competition including WB alum Keri Russell (Felicity and Bedtime Stories), Diane Kruger (Inglorious Basterds), Jennifer Garner (Elektra), and Eva Green (Quantum of Solace). Will Blake be able to beat out a Bond girl? Filming begins in January so we’ll find out soon!
