Tonight’s episode of Project Runway kicks off with the designers learning their latest challenge. They all have to hit the streets of New York and find willing participants to receive a real woman Mary Kay makeover from them. They don’t waste any time, and start searching for models. Sean and Alexander keep striking out, no one will give them the time of day. Emily and Amanda both find their models without any problems, and start taking their measurements. Char meets a pre-school teacher who needs an edgy outfit to wear to her husband’s rock concert. Amanda finally scores and finds a German ballerina to be her model. Sean still hasn’t found a model, and can’t find anyone to participate. He is losing hope and Tim Gunn gives him a pep-talk. He finally finds a muse in the park, an aspiring actress and singer.

Time is up and all of the designers have found models, they head to Muse to pick up fabric for their designs. Alexander finds hounds tooth checker fabric and he knows it is perfect for his design. Kini is struggling, his model likes Bohemian-chic, and that is not his forte. Amanda is working on a graphic mini-dress and a motorcycle jacket. Their time is soon up at the fabric store and Tim Gunn rushes them back to the workroom.

Kini is clearly struggling, he grumbles to Emily that he has no idea what he is making for his model. Sean can tell that Kini is feeling defeated, because he isn’t as loud and fun as he usually is in the workroom. Emily is busy playing around with pleats and get an idea to do a circular find around the shirt. Amanda is hard at work on the royal blue motorcycle jacket that she designed. She brags that jackets are “so easy” for her. The designers head to the Mary Kay studio to pick out the colors for their model’s Mary Kay makeovers.

The designers head back to the work room for Day #2, and Tim Gunn pays them a visit to check on their progress. Tim coos about how amazing Korina;’s leather jacket is, but tells her not to overthink it. Char’s dress isn’t impressing Tim, he thinks that it is too short. Kini has two dresses made, a white one and a denim on, he wants his model to try them on and see which one looks better on her. Tim encourages Emily and tells her that her dress is beautiful, she isn’t sure if is beautiful enough to keep her on the show since she almost went home last week. Nobody gets put down like Alexander though, Tim announces that his dress is the “most hideous garment” he has ever seen and that it is “butt ugly.” Tim says it has to be fixed ASAP, he doesn’t want him to get send home.

Alexander begins deconstructing his dress and freaking out, he decides to use the fabric he has left over to create 1950’s style skirt. He doesn’t have much time though, because their models arrive for their gitting. Emily’s dress is a hit, her model gushes about how perfect it is and says she feels like a princess. Alexander’s model feels sorry for him when he doesn’t have anything done, but she is glad Tim Gunn nixed his polka dot dress because it wouldn’t have looked good on her. Amanda’s model isn’t thrilled about the dress she is making because it is so tight on her waist, after her model leaves Amanda starts having second thoughts about her dress.

It’s finally the day of the runway show, the models arrive at the workroom for their final fitting. Afterwards they head to the Mary Kay studio for their makeovers. Afterwards the designers rush around getting their models in their dresses. Tim Gunn pops in and tells them they have ten minutes left. Char’s worst nightmare comes true and her model busts the zipper down the side, she runs and cries to Tim that she needs more time. He asks the other designers if they mind going down to the runway and giving Char an extra ten minutes in the work-room to put in another zipper. The designers feel uncomfortable and have no choice but to say yes when he puts them on the spot.

The designers finally arrive at the runway and Heidi scolds them for being late. The judges join them in their seats, along with guest judge model Asha Leon. The fashion show begins, it is an anonymous fashion show, so the judges have no idea whose dresses are on which models. After the fashion show Heidi announces that Sean is safe and he can return to the work-room. Kini, Korina, Char, Amanda, Alexander, and Emily have the top three highest and lowest scores.

The judges are unimpressed with Amanda’s dress, they like the vibe, but they think that the dress was poorly made and looks like something you would buy at the outlet mall. The judges rave about Korina’s jacket, but they aren’t sure that it matches the dress that she made. The judges are not fans of Char’s outfit, they think that the red is a little too bold and there is too much going on. Emily’s dress is definitely a statement piece, her model gushes about how much she loves it, but the judges are on the fence. Alexander’s dress is a mess, and the judges tell him so, they don’t understand how that outfit cost $200 and took two days to make. Kini’s dress is a hit, and Heidi reveals that it is her favorite piece of the show.

The judges take a closer look at the designs backstage, and they are ready to announce the results. This week’s winner of the makeover challenge is Korina. Sean, Kini, and Amanda are safe. Char and Alexander are in the bottom two, but the judges decide to give Char another chance. Alexander is officially eliminated from Project Runway.
