Janet Jackson graces the August 2010 cover of Essence Magazine. Janet appears in the magazine in a eight page spread with CSI: Miami actor Adam Rodriguez. Janet talks about writing a self help booked called "True You". Janet who has had a long history of her battle with her weight said:
"I wanted to write this book because I wanted kids to have something to read and know that that they are beautiful as they are ‘It took me a good minute to get here. It really did. But I love my life. I only wish I had this confidence when I was younger. ‘Then again, everything happens for a reason. ‘Maybe that’s why it didn’t hit me then. I’d probably have been hell on wheels if it had."
