Kate Middleton has certainly opened doors for her entire family ever since she married Prince William and became the Duchess of Cambridge. The Princess’ sister, Pippa Middleton, turned the viral photos of her bottom from the royal wedding into a career in media, and now grandma Carole Middleton is entering the world of media as well.
Carole Middleton has decided to embark on a new venture in her life; a journalist once to be exact. The grandmother of the newly born Princess Charlotte and almost two year old Prince George will be taking her motherly expertise to a baby magazine as an expert on the subject.
Carole Middleton has decided to join the teams for both Baby London and Little London, two magazines that specialize in babies and parenting. Combined, these two magazines have a readership of 200,000.
Carole, now 60-years-old, has joined the likes of Elizabeth Hurley and Thomasina Miers as one of the contributing editors who will appear in the bi-monthly magazines. Her first article can already be found in Little London, and it is a list of Carole’s top tips and ideas for throwing the perfect outdoor party. How fitting! We recently reported Carole Middleton was helping plan two outdoor parties for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, so it is only right that she share her ideas with the world.
In the article, Carole Middleton reveals just why she began her family business, Party Pieces. She says the frustration of having to search high and low, only to find very little party favors drove her to this idea.
She writes, “This prompted Michael and I to launch our own small mail order company from a shed in our back garden in 1987, and while we’ve grown in size, we’re still very much a family business.”
Carole Middleton will not be paid for job at the magazine, but she is extremely excited to join the time. She writes, “I love sourcing and developing new products and I’m delighted to share my favorite finds with Little London’s readers.”
Working for free seems like such a far fetched concept, but when you are the grandmother of the Kate Middelton’s kids, we can only imagine that you do not necessarily need the money. In fact, Carole is not the only person writing for the magazine that is not getting paid.
Publisher Annabella Ward says, “Most of our experts, including Carole, contribute for free, because they enjoy our titles and see our magazines as great way of sharing their expertise with London Parents.”
