Jenna Coleman Confirms Exit From Dr. Who Season 9: Clara Oswald Killed?

Dr. Who spoilers confirm that the casting rumors are true and fan favorite Jenna Coleman is OUT. Rumors began popping up a year ago that Jenna’s Dr. Who character Clara Oswald was leaving the wildly popular British TV show, and the actress finally confirmed her exit during a radio interview with BBC Radio 1 on Friday September 18.

While discussing the rumors about her leaving Dr. Who, Jenna Coleman dished, “ “We’re not going to give any details but it will happen at some point this season…We worked out a really good story arc out so hopefully people will love it. Still, she said it wasn’t an easy decision. There are not a lot of jobs where you get to have an alien as your best mate and get to run away from monsters… it’s been so much fun, I love it. It’s such a unique beast. It’s been really special.”

After Jenna Coleman confirmed her Dr. Who exit on the radio she took to Twitter and sent this message out to her fans, “Adventures to last me a lifetime. Thank you @bbcdoctorwho. But as they say ‘It ain’t over till it’s over.” If you are a die-hard Jenna Coleman fan, you can breathe a sigh of relief though, because it won’t be long before she is back on our TV screens. The popular actress has already signed on for a part in ITV’s new show “Victoria,” where she will be playing the lead part of the Queen.

Dr. Who spoilers tease that the show will return for Season 9 on Saturday September 19, and Jenna Coleman’s exit is rumored to air sometime during October 2015. A popular theory among fans is that in the upcoming episode titled “The Girl Who Died,” Clara Oswald will be killed off. Are you as upset over Jenna Coleman’s exit as we are?
