Kate Middleton is demanding that Carole Middleton get her rightful place in the royal family! Kate reappeared in the public eye after her maternity leave looking like a shell of her former self. Clearly, the royals stepped in to dominate Kate’s life, but the Duchess of Cambridge is regaining control and Carole Middleton’s influence is returning to the royal couple’s lives as Princess Kate continues to send subtle messages to Queen Elizabeth.
Carole Middleton, and the Middleton family, haven’t just been enjoying the benefits of royal status – Kate’s family has been reforming. The Duchess of Cambridge is very close with her mother; a smart woman with a head for business and social-climbing.
As Kate cements her position in the royal family, giving birth to 2 heirs, Carole has been breaking royal protocol and ensuring her influence and presence was prominent in Kate and Prince William’s lives.
By convincing William to insist the Middletons be not only accepted, but welcome and present in their lives, the middleclass Middletons were able to orchestrate a royal revolution. Carole and Michael Middleton housed the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge after Kate gave birth to Prince George, greatly influencing their parenting style from George’s infancy.
Carole eventually took over, changed royal traditions, and even set Prince George’s naps times to coincide with Prince Charles’ visits.
After the birth of Princess Charlotte, Carole Middleton moved into Anmer Hall to exercise the same influence and control. It worked for some time, but Queen Elizabeth eventually put her foot dow,n and Carole was eventually removed from Kate, William, and the royal childrens’ lives.
The Middleton matriarch may have had her open access cut off, but it appears her power and influence is still going strong. The Duchess of Cambridge has been smiling and acting as though her odd 4 month-long isolation was just a refreshing vacation, and not a constant power struggle with the royal family attempting to pull another Princess Diana.
Kate’s demeanor has been almost over-the-top with nearly perfect behavior. However, those forced smiles and adoring looks at Prince William also have subtle messages. Every move Kate Middleton makes is watched and criticized.
Princess Diana once lamented the scrutiny during her BBC interview, “Anything good I ever did, nobody ever said a thing, never said ‘well done’ or was it OK. But if I tripped up, which invariably I did, because I was new at the game, a ton of bricks came down on me.”
So, when the Duchess of Cambridge flashes her inner thigh, despite the Queen’s demands for lower hemlines, or wears a backless dress and goes braless to a public event; it inevitably goes back to Queen Elizabeth. Kate wore a sheer blue dress that revealed ample amounts of skin, and the message conveyed she did not fear whatever backlash the royal family would dish out.
But, the more interesting angle there wasn’t the dress…it was the earrings. Kate Middleton, who has access to priceless gems and every jeweler in the world, wore Carole Middleton’s earrings. You will recognize the blue topaz and white gold chandelier-style earrings from Kate and Prince William’s wedding. Carole wore the accessory to the 2011 wedding.
It’s small and very subtle, but it shows that the middleclass Middletons are still present. In fact, it’s clear the Middletons want to remind the royals Prince George and Princess Charlotte have their commoner blood, too. Like it or not, the Middletons are forever tied to the future of the monarchy.
