Amy Winehouse says that she hasn’t touched drugs in over three years, but she didn’t mention how much of the sauce she’s been drinkin’.
The journalist assigned to do the Q&A with Amy noted that she was tipping the drinks and it took her 45 minutes to change clothes. Interesting. But unless she was trying to finagle her way into one of Lady Gaga’s strange outfits, then there’s no real cause for that nonsense.
The journalist revealed, “Before Winehouse goes to change for the next shot, I see her gulping down a big glass of wine. ‘Not,’ she says aloud, ‘that I’m a rock-star alkie.’ I have no idea what prompted this, but I can say that 45 minutes later, she is changed. She is physically unstable, wobbly in high block heels. Soon, she begins a chorus-girl routine for the camera—complete with cha-chas and pirouettes. The shoot wraps, and Winehouse walks unsteadily from the set. I find her sitting on the edge of a white-quilted bed in her dressing room, slurping noisily from a pot of soup. One of her representatives tells me that she will sit in on our interview.”
While I imagine that Amy has really stayed away from the hard drugs that her ex-husband Blake got her into, I’d fathom a guess that she doesn’t find alcohol to be that harmful to her. For some druggies, ex-druggies and alcoholics, they trade one addiction for another. It’s possible that she dumped the heroin for booze and thinks that’s okay. And of course, her reps are saying that it’s no big deal because alcohol is legal.
