Is Celine Dion’s health in danger as the songstress prepares to return to work? A memorial concert for late husband Rene Angelil is planned for February 3 and Dion is determined to perform in his honor. But many are worried that such a quick return to the stage after Rene’s death will take its toll on Celine’s mental and physical health.
Not only is Celine still in mourning for Rene, the award-winning “My Heart Will Go On” singer is also grieving the loss of her brother. Daniel Dion passed away just two days after Rene’s death. Celine, just like anyone else, needs to step back for as long as needed in order to heal.
An insider told GLOBE that friends and family are scared that Celine will suffer a mental breakdown if she insists upon pushing forward. Right now, Celine Dion and Rene Angelil’s three children, fifteen-year-old Rene-Charles and five-year-old twins Eddy and Nelson, need their mother to guide them through the grieving process. Dion must remain mentally and physically strong for the children as well as for her own well-being.
All of Celine’s attention over the past year had been focused on caring Rene. The music mogul was unable to speak and could only receive nutrition through a feeding tube. That in and of itself would break even the strongest person.
Friends, family, and colleagues who loved Rene will certainly understand if Dion postpones the Las Vegas memorial concert for a few months. Unless, of course, it was Angelil’s wish that it be held shortly after his passing. Certainly Rene would understand his grieving widow might need to step back to recover from the tragic loss of both her husband and brother within days of each other?
Rene Angelil was the love of Celine Dion’s life, the man who catapulted Celine into superstardom. No matter how long the couple had to prepare for Rene’s passing, it is still an emotionally draining life event. Hopefully, Celine will make the decision to rest and spend time quietly at home with her three children.
