Tonight’s episode of The Bachelor kicks off where we left off last week, Ben and the girls are still at their cocktail party in Mexico. Ben Higgins is doing an investigation before the rose ceremony – all of the women have taken him aside and told him that Olivia is fake, and rude to them. Ben decides to go straight to the source and asks Olivia what is going on. She gives him a sob story and tells him that the girls have been gunning for her since day one, and she “can’t win with them.”
Olivia goes on to tell Ben that she doesn’t connect with the other girls because she likes reading and thinking and talking about smart things – not doing her hair and nails. She thinks that her confidence intimidates the other girls. Olivia technically already has a rose, so she can’t be sent home tonight unless Ben takes it away from her.
Ben and Olivia return to the cocktail party and the other women are shocked to see that Olivia still has a rose and isn’t being sent home. Ben gives them all a speech and tells them that he respects that they are all different – and then he leaves to get ready for the rose ceremony. Emily is furious, she was sure that Olivia was going to get sent home.
Everyone lines up for the rose ceremony and Ben starts passing out roses. Amanda, Lauren H, and Olivia already have roses. Caila, Lauren B, Jojo, Becca, Leah, and Emily all receive roses. That means that Jennifer is officially eliminated – she says her goodbyes to the girls and Ben and then makes her exit. After Jen leaves, Ben announces to the remaining women that they need to pack their bags – because they are heading to the Bahamas.
The next day the women arrive in the Bahamas and get settled in to the hotel – Chris Harrison pays them a visit and announces that while they are in the Bahamas they will have the infamous 2-on-1 date. Chris leaves a date card and the girls open it, Caila scared the first 1-on-1 date. The date card teases, “Caila let’s see if our love is real.” Some of the other girls are a little upset because this isn’t Caila’s first 1-on-1 time with Ben. Leah is devastated – she hasn’t had a single date with Ben yet, she heads upstairs and starts crying that she wants to go home. She knows that she is going on the 2-on-1 date and going to be sent home.
Meanwhile, Caila and Ben are having a great time while Leah cries her eyes out in hotel. After fishing on a boat and making out all afternoon – they hop in the water and decide to go for a swim. After their date, Caila and Ben have a romantic dinner and a heart to heart. Caila confesses to Ben that she thinks that she is falling in love with him, but she is scared because she doesn’t want to break his heart. She reassures Ben that when they are together, she feels real happiness. Ben is obviously confused but he thinks that Caila’s confusing side is attractive. At the end of the date Ben gives Caila the date rose.
Meanwhile back at the hotel, another date card arrives – Lauren B, Becca, Amanda, Jojo, Lauren H, and Leah are going on a group date with Ben. That means that the super awkward 2-on-1 date will be between Emily and Olivia.
Ben meets up with the girls for the group date the next morning – he takes them out on a boat on the ocean, and they dock on an island. The girls start squealing when they see a family of bigs swimming in the water. Ben and the girls all hop down in to the water with a bucket of hot dogs and they feed them. And, it turns in to a free for all – there are pigs everywhere, chasing them and squealing and knocking the girls over.
Lauren Bushnell steals Ben for some alone time – they go wading out in the ocean and all of the other girls just stare at them and watch from a distance. Ben doesn’t understand what is going on and why all of the other girls are acting so strange towards him. Jojo tries to explain to him that everyone just feels awkward because the group dates are getting smaller. Ben confesses that it is hard for him too – and he doesn’t know what to do.
Leah takes Ben aside and tries to explain to him that she is upset that she hasn’t had a 1-on-1 date yet, Ben doesn’t seem too concerned, he tells her that if she really wanted to spend time with him then she would make the most of her time on the group date. Leah does the opposite – and heads back to the beach and cries. She is paranoid and certain that Ben is going to send her home.
Later that night they all sit down for a cocktail party – Ben tries to get some alone time with each of the girls and stars with Becca. He puts Becca on the spot, and wants to know why she was standoffish to him on the date. Becca explains to him that when she saw him with Lauren B, she got a little jealous and shut down because she knows that he and Lauren have a good connection. Ben has a similar conversation with Amanda, and then the rest of the girls.
Back at the hotel the last date card arrives for Emily and Olivia’s 2-on-1 date, it reads: “two girls, one rose, one stays, and one goes.” Olivia is very confident, she obviously thinks that she is staying and that Emily will be the one that goes home.
Back on the group date – Leah is fed up, she sits down with Ben and informs him that Lauren B is fake – and she doesn’t act the same way in front of him that she does in front of the girls. Ben confronts Lauren and she is obviously upset, she insists that she has no idea what they are talking about. Lauren heads back to the other girls and breaks down in tears. They are trying to figure out who was talking bad about her to Ben. Leah flat out lies and tells them she never said anything, she says she’s “not that type of girl.”
At the end of the date Ben announces that he is giving the date rose to Amanda. Leah has let her crazy flag officially fly – she confesses in her diary room session that she was sure she should have gotten the date rose after she threw Lauren under the bus.
Back at the hotel, Lauren and Amanda narrow down via a process of elimination that it had to have been Leah that was talking badly about her. Meanwhile, Leah sneaks in to Ben’s hotel room in the middle of the night and they sit down to talk. She continues to rant about how horrible of a person Lauren B is – she says that Lauren doesn’t really care about him and she acts catty.
Ben isn’t falling for it, while Leah rants about Lauren – Ben realizes that he really doesn’t have a connection with Leah. He interrupts her while she is talking and tells her that he doesn’t really feel a connection to her. Ben confesses that the only reason that he hasn’t sent her home is because he was scared to say goodbye to her and liked having her around. Ben tells Leah that he thinks that it is time for her to go home – Leah is devastated, but she heads back to the hotel to pack her bags. She breaks down in tears and Lauren H. tries to console her.
The next day Ben heads on his super awkward 2-on-1 date with Olivia and Emily. Olivia gets some alone time with Ben first – she continues to throw the other girls under the bus and tells Ben that she is “too intellectual” to be able to communicate with them on their level. At the end of Olivia’s speech she tells Ben that she loves him and he kisses her.
Emily is not as charming as Olivia, she can’t stop rambling and the wind is blowing her hair in her face. She and Ben finally get it together – he tells her that he knows that she has a lot of love to give. Meanwhile, Olivia smirks from the distance, she is still sure that Emily is going home and she is staying.
At the end of the date, Ben has to give one of them a rose. He picks up the rose and he asks Olivia to take a walk with him. Emily breaks down in tears – she is certain that Ben is giving Olivia the rose and sending her home and she thinks that he is making the biggest mistake of his life.
Meanwhile, Ben does a complete 180 – and he tells Olivia that he doesn’t reciprocate his feelings for her. Apparently, Olivia’s profession of her love for Ben totally creeped him out and he realized that he doesn’t love her. Ben heads back to the beach and gives the rose to Emily and she squeals with joy. Olivia cries off to the side. Back at the hotel, the producers take Olivia’s luggage from the hotel room and the other girls are shocked when they realize that she was just eliminated.
Chris Harrison announces that it is time for the next rose ceremony – and they are skipping the cocktail party in the Bahamas. The girls line up and wait for Ben to pass out roses. Amanda, Emily, and Caila already have roses and are safe. Ben passes out roses to Becca, Jojo, and Lauren B. So that means Lauren H. is officially eliminated. All together tonight we saw Jenn, Leah, Olivia, and Lauren H. go home – and Ben has narrowed his search for love down to the final six.
THE END!
