Kate Middleton was tending to her royal duties on Sunday February 7 – the Duchess of Cambridge attended the 75th Anniversary of the Royal Air Force Air Cadets at St. Clement Danes Church in London, England, UK.
Kate Middleton arrived beaming at the service – it was her first official event on her own as the Honorary Air Commandant. In December 2015 the Duke Of Edinburgh passed the duty on to Middleton after his 63 year term.
Considering this is Kate’s first military appointment and she is representing over 40,000 cadets – the Duchess of Cambridge appeared calm, cool, and collected. After the service at St. Clement Danes Church, Kate Middleton mingled with the Air Force Cadets, and smiled for the camera while she helped cut a 3 tier anniversary cake.
Afterwards, she went on to the Air Force Cadets reception at Royal Courts Of Justice.
While the mother of Prince George and Princess Charlotte was meeting and greeting the honorees at the Anniversary, she revealed that George is quite the fan of aviation himself. Lucinda Conder told reporters that Kate Middleton gushed about the tiny Prince and revealed, “He is now obsessed with the air cadets and wants to join. We are going to have to push that one when he gets to age 12.”
Kate’s not just be an over-protective mom, George can’t actually join the cadets until he is 12 years old – the program is geared towards kids ages 12-19.
Overall the event went off without a hitch – there were no wardrobe malfunctions, Prince William’s wife was dressed very conservatively in a powder blue coat that barely showed any leg below her knees. And, the Duchess even managed to somehow make it about Prince George.
