Annalise, like always, has been keeping secrets but it’s the secrets that she’s keeping from Wes that has been doing the most damage on tonight’s all new episode of “How to Get Away with Murder”.

Apparently Wes hasn’t been sleeping since that night at the Hapstall House where it had been him and Laurel that had shot Annalise. So Wes had finally decided to take action for his condition and he sought out a doctor about it, but he hadn’t liked her suggestion of therapy because he had really been hoping she would just give him the pills. And so out of a need to be flippant, he told her that she shouldn’t feel bad if she later hears that he blew his own head off.

And, well, the doctor had to take a statement like that seriously even if Wes had only said it out of anger. Therefore, she ended up reporting Wes’s statement and putting him on an involuntarily psychiatric hold. Which meant that Wes later had to miss Annalise’s first day back on the job.

Though, Annalise didn’t much care for the other law students that she had on hand so it turned out to be good thing that Wes had missed her uneasy transition back into the firehouse she generally is. It seems that Annalise was representing a gang member by the name of Jason and she managed to get him a pretty good plea deal despite the initial charges for murder. So, really, all Annalise had to do was make sure her client made it through the one and only time he would have been in front of the judge,

However, Jason’s real victim as in the mother of the person he killed had decided to have her say in court and she chose to tell the judge that she had wanted Jason to get less time than the ADA had offered him. And naturally that had appealed to Jason though not to Annalise. Annalise had felt like the mother was a loose cannon and she didn’t trust the other woman to still be in the forgiving mood once she was actually face to face with Jason.

And so Annalise had asked (more demanded) that her people look into the case again. Yet Michaela had found out that Jason had been lying about a few things so his pleas of “it was an accident” weren’t necessarily true. Because if it had been accident then why did Jason kill Tyler then send a message to Tyler’s mom from Tyler’s phone saying “I Luv U” which implies both a level of calmness as well as some guilt depending on how you look at it.

Either he had been so terrified of what he had done that he sent that message in order to apologize for what he did or he had sent that message in order to throw off the time of death.

Guess which one he was?

Annalise, however, didn’t want to know the answer to the question so she told Jason to never tell anyone about what he had done in the moments following Tyler’s death. And she had gone on to try representing Jason to her best capability. But, guilt did begin to creep in during the hearing with Tyler’s mother.

And Jason just didn’t know how to stand by while Tyler’s mother apologized to him for not having anyone to care enough for him to set him on the right path. So Jason then told her, in front of witnesses and the ADA, that he had shot her son on purpose and that he had been the one to send her the message. That she had up until that point believed had been her son’s final words.

Yet, Tyler’s mother had still wanted to forgive even after she had heard Jason’s confession. The ADA on the other hand wanted to remove the deal, previously in place, off the table because she was then no longer happy with a second degree murder charges and wanted to upgrade it back to first degree. Where she hoped to push for the death penalty.

So Annalise then asked her team for their assistance in removing the death penalty off the table and possibly going back to the original deal. And Michaela had surprised everyone by speaking out. She said that Jason deserved to go to jail for what he did seeing as Catherine is now spending time there even thought she was innocent.

And when Annalise had told her that they don’t get to make judgement calls like that, Laurel chose to tell everyone what really happened to Wes. So she told the group that she had gone to Annalise for help to get Wes released and that Annalise had shot it down because apparently he wasn’t her problem anymore.

Therefore, the law students chose as a collective to just walk out. They told Annalise that they were tired of doing what she said and then then walked out. And left her to figure out Jason’s case by herself.

But Jason had once again surprised Annalise because once she did find a way to get the death penalty off the table, it was Jason that had accepted life in prison without the chance of parole. He said that was what he deserved. So he gone around his lawyer in order to accept that deal and Tyler’s mother had further shocked Annalise by sticking by Jason.

Ms. Robinson had in fact built a relationship with Jason and she wanted to continue to support him even if he didn’t think he deserved it or her.

And once the guys had filed out of Annalise’s place, they had gone to the psych ward to collect Wes but had found out he had already gotten released early. Wes it seems had told his doctors about his childhood. Namely about his mother’s suicide and that had gotten her to lay off.

Though on the ride back into town, Wes and his workmates had oddly come to an agreement. They told each other that they would try to be there for each other and went without saying that no one outside of their group was supposed to know about all the heinous things they’ve done. So Laurel’s next stop shouldn’t have been to Frank’s because she chose to end things between by telling him the truth about the night Annalise’s got shot.

And she was going to then walk away from their relationship seeing as they usually don’t tell each other the really bad things when they need someone to talk to, but Frank had also decided to disclose a secret of his. And he told her that he killed Lila.

But, still, his secret didn’t really match what Annalise had been hiding.

Annalise had once turned to Wes’s mom in the past for information about a man that was accused of murder at the time and apparently that scared the other woman so much that had tried to run. Yet Annalise had convinced her to stay and listen when she promised to protect Rose and her son. And, well, the files that Annalise had left for Wes might just reveal that Annalise hadn’t protected Rose as much as she once swore to do.

So now we must ask ourselves if Wes’s mother really did kill herself?

THE END!
