General Hospital spoilers (GH) fans need to be ready for a rollercoaster of emotions again as Jason Morgan (Billy Miller) learns that his one best friend, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) betrayed his other best friend, Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) by cheating on her with her assistant, a much younger Nelle Hayes (Chloe Lanier).
Carly and Sonny have been struggling after the devastating and tragic death of their youngest son, Morgan (Bryan Craig). Carly even packed all her belongings and her daughter Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) and moved back into her own house after she believed Sonny was responsible for the death of his own son. They are teetering on maintaining a simple friendship right now, as Carly believes that Sonny didn’t plant the bomb, but his deception and lies are cutting her deep.
Through General Hospital spoilers sources, we learn that Jason figures out Sonny is hiding something, but when the mobster confesses, this leaves Jason in a very bad position, with Sonny and Carly being his best friends, who does he choose to stand by?
Sonny has become more than a brother and a fatherly figure for Jason. After he was in the horrible car accident that altered his mind, and erased all his memories of being Jason Quartermaine, Sonny took him in; unfortunately, Jason forgot that he was a med student planning to follow in his parents’ footsteps and in a way, Sonny transformed the golden boy into “Stone Cold”. Many felt this was a brutal move on Sonny’s part, but others just accepted Jason for who he became.
When Carly Benson arrived in Port Charles, Jason was the first person she connected with. After a one-night-stand, the two moved on to be best friends, and Jason stuck by her through some crazy schemes, including him claiming his brother AJ’s (Billy Warlock) son, Michael Quartermaine (Chad Duell) as his own.
Carly has definitely put Jason through the ringer through all these years, but his love and friendship for her run far deeper than most marriages. The problem is, Jason isn’t much of a liar these days and if he were to attempt to hide this from Carly, she is going to see through him, and expect him to tell her.
One has to wonder if Jason will accept Sonny’s confession at face value; he knows how much Sonny loves Carly, and it doesn’t appear Sonny was in a manic episode, so what would make him do this to her now?
