General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Carly (Laura Wright) will continue to mull over her breakup. Sonny’s (Maurice Bernard) actions have left Carly feeling angry and betrayed. She believes Sonny slept with Nelle (Chloe Lanier) and that’s been tough to accept.
Of course, Carly’s real issue is the fact that Sonny lied to her. It was wrong of Sonny to keep Carly in the dark, but it’s easy to see why he did it. Sonny and Carly’s marriage always seems to be on the rocks. Morgan’s (Bryan Craig) death added to the strain and left them wondering how to move on.
This couple was in a fragile state when Nelle pulled off her fake sex scheme. Sonny obviously didn’t want to make things worse. When they finally started to pick up the pieces, Sonny wasn’t interested in another setback. It makes sense that Sonny wanted to brush it all under the rug.
Once everything blew up, Sonny was apologetic and has repeatedly asked for forgiveness. However, Carly just hasn’t been willing to give Sonny a pass for his deception. Is she being too hard on him? Carly knows what kind of man she married. Sonny has never been a pillar of morality.
It’s clear that Sonny wanted to save himself more pain, but he also wanted to protect Carly’s feelings. Sonny knew his news would sting, so he kept it to himself. It might have been a bad call, but he wasn’t trying to hurt Carly. General Hospital fans can tell that Sonny truly loves his wife.
On the other hand, Carly deserves a little respect. She’s had to put up with a lot of Sonny’s drama and perhaps this was just the last straw. If she’s going to deal with all his mobster problems, the least he can do is be honest with her when he messes up.
Fortunately, the next General Hospital revelation could spark change. After Jax (Ingo Rademacher) confesses to Nelle, she’ll come clean about drugging Sonny and making up their romp in the sack. How will Carly react when she realizes Sonny was lying about something he didn’t even do? Will that make a difference to her?
General Hospital spoilers hint that Carly could soften toward Sonny after everything is out in the open. Still, Jax is in the picture again and that could create difficulties. If Carly finds herself drawn to her ex, it could spell more trouble. Besides, Carly certainly wasn’t a fan of Sonny’s ultimatum. She admitted she doesn’t do well with those.
