Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will possibly get married at Westminster Abbey, according to reports. Meghan has been given the green light to marry Harry at Westminster Abbey even though she’s a divorcee. Britain’s The Daily Star says that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s nuptials could easily look very similar to Prince William and Kate Middleton’s 2011 wedding.
After all, they married at Westminster Abbey, too. Plus, church officials say that Meghan’s Jewish background won’t be a problem, as could have an “interfaith” marriage as well. A church spokesperson told the publication, “The Abbey follows the General Synod Ruling of 2002. Since then it has been possible for divorced people to be married in the Church of England.”
If Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were to marry at Westminster Abbey, this would be difficult for both Camilla Parker-Bowles and Kate Middleton to swallow. Camilla is having a hard time accepting the fact that Meghan Markle is not British and that she’s already being treated like a member of the royal family with her special security clearance at Kensington Palace.
For Kate Middleton though, it’s a whole different story. She knows that the moment Prince Harry and Meghan Markle marry, she’ll be competing with the Hollywood actress for the spotlight. Every gossip site and tabloid magazine in the world will be comparing Meghan Markle’s public appearances, style and even personality to that of Kate Middleton’s. The last thing she wants is to be in Meghan’s shadow.
Plus, no one seems to be talking about the fact that Meghan Markle is a divorcee. Camilla is still having a hard time being accepted, as a lot of people simply can’t forget that she was the other person in Prince Charles and Princess Diana’s marriage. She’s been married to Prince Charles for more than a decade yet everyone is still bringing up Camilla’s mistakes. But with Meghan, her past doesn’t seem to matter, and that’s what boils Camilla’s blood the most.
Then again, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle aren’t even engaged yet and everyone is already talking about their Westminster Abbey wedding plans. Even though Harry and Meghan are making more public appearances together, it’s without a doubt that the young royal wants to make sure that he’s absolutely making the right decision before making her his wife.
