Taylor Swift is desperate to win over Joe Alwyn’s parents. The ‘Bad Blood’ singer secretly flew to London on Father’s Day weekend to spend quality time with her boyfriend along with his parents, Richard and Margaret Alwyn. Apparently, Taylor tried to impress Joe’s parents by hosting a gathering at her rented London pad.
According to Britain’s The Sun, one source close to the situation said, “After spending the weekend together, Taylor offered to host Father’s Day at her place with Joe’s mum and dad treating her to a classic Sunday roast to show her how the Brits do it. Taylor is loving being an honorary Londoner and wants things to stay as normal as possible — things are going amazingly well.”
For Taylor’s fans, they are not surprised. Everyone remembers how Taylor Swift did this exact same thing with Tom Hiddleston this time last year. They made their big public debut when Taylor and Tom were spotted enjoying a leisurely stroll near the English seaside not too far away from his mother’s home.
This year, it’s the same formula, but different boyfriend. Taylor Swift desperately wants to be loved and accepted by Joe Alwyn’s parents. She’ll do whatever it takes to prove to them that she’s the perfect girlfriend for Joe or better yet, wife material for him. Of course, time will only tell if Joe Alwyn’s parents will see through Taylor Swift and her master plan. She’s done it with her exes, she’s not doing it with Joe and surely she’ll do it again with her next love interest.
Fans believe that Joe needs to be careful about his relationship with Taylor as well. He doesn’t want to end up looking like a laughing stock the same way Tom Hiddleston did after Taylor dumped him last year. Sure, dating someone as rich and famous as Taylor Swift is exciting, but he doesn’t want to come off as needy or desperate himself. That’s why a lot of people believe that it would be in Joe’s best interest if he kept their relationship under the radar for as long as possible. Taylor can try and win over Joe’s parents all she wants, but at the end of the day she’s dating him, not them.
