The jam-packed streets of Toronto were proof last night that as devout fans, we are still all googly for GaGa. The 24-year-old songstress touched down on Canadian turf yesterday clad in a leather vest, purple tights and a pair of heelless, knee-length leather boots. Never a disappointment – and always intriguing to say the least.
Filling the Air Canada Center in the heart of Toronto, in typical Gaga fashion there was never a dull moment. For now though, the hype is all about 10 year old Winnipeg native Maria Aragon who was brought onstage to perform a duet from the singers new single “Born the Way.” The young aspiring singer recently became a You Tube sensation after a video of her singing the tune garnered Gaga’s attention….and 17 million views. Throw in several flights to Los Angeles and New York for appearances on The Ellen Degeneres Show and Good Morning America and what you get is the chance to sing onstage with your idol. Oh You Tube, how you’ve changed the world.
Not only does Aragon get to meet her favorite singer, but also to perform on stage with her is no doubt a memory she is likely never to forget. The young girl was obviously passed her bedtime as she took the stage after 11pm halfway through Gaga’s two-hour set, then again for the finale an hour later. Glammed up in sparkling black tights, a black leather jacket, pink hoodie, and grey hi-tops, I think it’s suffice to say that there will be plenty to talk about when this budding hipster and singer goes to school for show and tell…
