General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Helena Cassadine’s (Constance Towers) role in the tale of two Jasons is significant and explains the entire history. In fact, she had her hands in it from the time the boys were merely three years old. Although GH fans have been determined to say that Steve Burton is the original Jason, the “one true” Jason, they couldn’t be further from the truth.
Of course, at the time no one would have known any different, but the “Jason” that Steve Burton portrayed didn’t appear in Port Charles until the ill-fated 1996 car accident, caused by his brother, AJ Quartermaine’s (Sean Kanan) drinking and driving. Didn’t GH fans ever wonder about the sudden personality change and memories he was just not able to recover?
The answer is simple, the man who came out of General Hospital, after the accident was not Jason Quartermaine (Billy Miller with Steve Burton’s face), but in fact, was Drew, Franco’s childhood companion, his very own cousin, and a boy he believed to be his imaginary friend (also Steve Burton). Helena Cassadine is known for abducting people and simply replacing them with others or allowing family and loved ones to just presume they are dead – look at what she did to little Jake Webber (now- Hudson West)?!
General Hospital spoilers is simplifying things in hopes that this twisted twins tale makes sense to GH fans. Helena Cassadine will be the key to this mystery, and it is clear that even from beyond the grave (presumably, she’s dead, we can’t be 100% certain with her) she continues to wreak havoc on Port Charles.
So far, GH fans have been told that Betsy Frank (Deborah Strang) had received one of Susan Moore’s twin boys to raise as her own from birth, we believe this boy is Andrew = SB Jason. When Susan didn’t return to get him when he was a toddler (she was killed), Betsy eventually said the boy died, then gave him away (or he was taken) where he ended up with Helena Cassadine – remember her telling Franco (Roger Howarth) how he hurt him and she needed to send him away?
Helena, who is a bit of a sadistic individual, and a complete psychopath, loved to toy with people’s minds and emotions. When the Jason Quartermaine (BM Jason) we all knew and loved as a good boy, who following in his parents’ foot steps was becoming a doctor, he was tragically injured by his brother’s irresponsible behavior. It was Helena’s perfect opportunity to switch the twins and suddenly Franco’s Drew became Steve Burton’s Stone Cold Jason Morgan and she kept the ‘Real’ twin, the one who was Jason Quartermaine (Billy Miller now) for herself for experimenting and controlling.
General Hospital spoilers confirm that it remained the same for several years to come as SB’s Jason Morgan continued to live his life in Port Charles as mob boss Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) right-hand man, completely oblivious to the possibility of having a twin out there. He went on to find love and felt comfortable with his place in the world, possibly thanks to all the training he received under the guidance of Helena Cassadine; but once again, things went awry when SB Jason was shot and presumed killed on the pier by Cesar Faison (Anders Hove). SB Jason also wound up with Helena – now she had both twins!
GH fans will recall that Dr. Robin Scorpio (Kimberly McCullough) was forced to remain at the Crighton-Clark clinic where Jason Morgan was being held; and although viewers didn’t know it at the time, it is clear that both men who are named “Jason Morgan”, were begin held there against their will.
Billy Miller, who plays the Quartermaine version of Jason (NOT Drew who played by Steve Burton), was the one Robin helped escape the clinic, only for him to be hit by Ava’s car, so severely that he needed facial reconstructive surgery; explaining why he no longer looks like SB Jason.
General Hospital spoilers remind viewers that when Helena died at the end of 2015, she cursed Sam Morgan (Kelly Monaco) in saying, ‘I curse you Samantha Morgan, You, those who begot you and those you begat, and all those who touch you. You and yours will never know happiness in this life, nor any other.” Were Helena’s words an omen of what was to come?
Now SB Jason Morgan/Patient Six/Drew has escaped from the Russian clinic and found his way back to Port Charles in an attempt to reclaim his life and loved ones. Will Helena’s curse play a key factor in Sam’s final decision? We have already witnessed her taking Billy Miller’s character’s hand saying that Jake is “Jason’s” son, making her point very clear.
Both Jasons are right and good, there is NO bad brother, no evil imposter, in the sense that they believe they are Jason – Andre (Anthony Montgomery) confirmed that to Franco recently, so how will this story unravel? Since BM Jason has been Jason all his life and lived Jason’s life in PC since 2014 – he is Jason Morgan. But SB Jason was released by Helena after the 1996 accident as Jason Morgan and lived his life as Stone Cold in PB until he was shot by Faison.
It will be an intense story but either way, a battle is on the horizon and the burden of proof will fall on both these incredibly talented actors. Since BM Jason has been Jason all his life and lived Jason’s life in PC since 2014 – he is Jason Morgan. But SB Jason was released by Helena after the 1996 accident as Jason Morgan and lived his life as Stone Cold in PC until he was shot by Faison.
GH sources tease how much this history makes sense since Frank Valentini never announced that Steve Burton would be playing Jason Morgan. Andrew “Drew” is a whole new player to the game, (although he’s been SB Jason since 1996) with his own feelings and mechanisms, and we look forward to seeing Burton bring his take on this entirely new character, among a cast of longtime friends.
