The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Nick (Joshua Morrow) could face a real shocker. Some dialogue on Friday’s and Monday’s new Y&R episodes point to a paternity bombshell and it could be coming up quickly. If Nick learns Adam (Justin Hartley) is Christian’s biological father, that will certainly throw him for a loop.
Of course, this storyline is also a huge clue about Adam’s comeback. If The Young and the Restless reveals Christian’s paternity, now that Victor (Eric Braeden) threatens Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) with exactly that on the December 1 Y&R episode, Adam won’t be far behind. Even sceptics will agree that it seems likely that an Adam Newman recast/return is on the way. Let’s think about how the paternity news will affect Nick and other crucial Y&R characters.
Obviously, Nick will be absolutely devastated. He acted like a raging lunatic when Sharon (Sharon Case) hid the truth about “Sully.” Sharon was duped by Dr. Anderson (Elizabeth Bogush), so she had no idea that she was caring for Sage’s (Kelly Sullivan) baby. She understandably grew attached to Christian, which made it tough for her to spill the secret when she found out.
Ruthless Nick didn’t have any sympathy at the time. He really came after Sharon hard, but Christian wasn’t his kid either! Let’s hope Nick will apologize to Sharon for being so cruel. There were better strategies to handle the transition. Nick will undoubtedly think about what it’d be like if he had to give up Christian. He’ll be relieved that Adam’s not around to claim his child.
Not so fast, Nick! There’s a good chance this is all building to Adam’s return from the dead. Adam Newman was willing to keep Nick in the dark and let him raise Christian before. However, things could change once Adam’s back in the picture. Some conflict could emerge over Nick’s involvement with Chelsea.
Once Nick realizes Chelsea lied to him about Christian, he may break up with her and drift toward Sharon. Chelsea would be crushed, but a reunion with Adam would definitely cheer her up. Adam would also find out that Nick tried to take his place in Chelsea’s life. Nick may get in big trouble for breaking her heart.
Y&R fans will recall that Adam wanted Nick to watch over his family, but did he mean pursue Chelsea romantically and shack up with her at the penthouse? Probably not! Adam might take back Christian because he wants to be a dad to him, but getting some revenge would sweeten the pot.
There’d be plenty of Victor (Eric Braeden) drama as well since he now appears as the likely source of a paternity reveal. This is just the kind of shakeup Genoa City needs!
