The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Abby’s (Melissa Ordway) about to face chaos in Genoa City, but her portrayer couldn’t be more at peace. Ordway recently gave birth to a gorgeous baby girl. She naturally wanted to show her new daughter off on Instagram. Everyone was anxious to get a peek at this bundle of joy, so Ordway didn’t wait too long to deliver the big news.
Sophie Jolie Gaston arrived on the morning of December 9 and she’s doing just fine. Ordway shared a lovely photo of her new baby along with some heartfelt words. It’s clear that there’s a lot of love surrounding this little one. Gaston and Ordway also have a one-year-old daughter named Olivia, so she’s undoubtedly glad her tiny sister’s finally here.
Of course, there’s always a lot of social media excitement when a Y&R star gives birth. Thankfully, Ordway was happy to put a picture out there and let viewers share in her joy. In addition to plenty of well wishes from fans, Ordway also got some Twitter love from the show.
The Young and the Restless account tweeted, “Congrats to the Gaston Family and Welcome Sophie to the #YR family!” CBS Daytime also let Ordway know they were thinking of her on this special occasion. They offered their congratulations and commented on Ordway’s beautiful family.
It’s beautiful indeed! Even Greg Rikaart, who plays Kevin on Y&R, decided to chime in on this cute kid. Rikaart said, “Holy Moly! Welcome, little beauty! Congrats, Gastons!” Ordway retweeted a few of her favorite congratulatory tweets before getting back to diaper duty.
Sophie will keep Ordway busy for a while, so Y&R watchers shouldn’t expect to see Abby as much down the road. Once her latest scenes finish airing, Abby will inevitably fade out until Ordway returns from maternity leave. Fans will happily let Ordway bond with her new baby and recover before her Y&R comeback!
