General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that the ABC soap could be losing at least two cast members. There’s a new blind item out and although this could be about any of the four soaps, the clues point to GH. Dan Kroll of Soap Central recently tweeted, “Looks like one soap’s about to lose two of its stars – one icon and one eye candy. And there could be more. Fans reaction should be…interesting.”
Here’s why this is likely about General Hospital. There’s solid buzz that Ryan Paevey is leaving the role of Nathan soon. He’s the definition of eye candy! The fan reaction seems to tie in with GH, too. General Hospital viewers are known for their passionate responses on social media. They aren’t shy about making their opinions known.
Since those parts add up, we should start thinking about the remaining parts of this blind item. For starters, Kroll said that we’d be losing an icon. Who could that be? Genie Francis (Laura) immediately comes to mind. Out of everyone on GH, we’d put her at the top of the icon list.
However, Laura is gearing up for the big mayoral election. Considering the upsurge of girl power in the media, we’d say she’s a safer bet to win this battle. Ned’s (Wally Kurth) been pretty obnoxious lately anyway. He deserves to be taken down a peg! If Laura becomes the new mayor of Port Charles, that’s obviously an indication that she’ll be sticking around.
Of course, there’s still a chance that Laura could lose. If so, GH could send her out of town with Kevin (Jon Lindstrom). Nevertheless, there are other icons to consider. Finola Hughes (Anna) has been a daytime drama staple for many years. Could she be leaving General Hospital?
Maura West (Ava) has only been on GH since 2013, but she’s had a long career in soaps. She could be considered an icon if we’re taking all her previous work into consideration. It would be terrible to lose West as the incredible Ava Jerome!
Leslie Charleson (Monica) and Jacklyn Zeman (Bobbie) could be options as well, but they’re not really “stars” these days. GH doesn’t give them much airtime anymore. Their exits probably wouldn’t cause that much of a fuss. Still, it’s a good idea to mull over everyone who fits icon status.
