General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Port Charles will face a tough farewell. On February 9, Nathan’s loved ones will gather to say their goodbyes. His funeral will bring plenty of emotional moments. Nathan’s death will also alter the lives of his friends and family members in startling ways.
So far, GH has given us a pretty straightforward story. Nathan beckoned danger with that risky interview and was ultimately shot by his own father. Faison (Anders Hove) fired the fatal bullet and now everyone has to move on. Seems simple enough, right? Perhaps it’s a bit too simple!
Since when does GH do such clear-cut stories? General Hospital is the reigning champ when it comes to soapy twists. Just look at how complicated the twin mystery has been. Andre (Anthony Montgomery) became a baddie out of nowhere. There’s also Franco’s (Roger Howarth) past with Drew (Billy Miller), which is going to bring more surprises soon enough.
Plus, we’ve also got Peter (Wes Ramsey), who’s Faison’s other son as well as the traitor. It looks like Anna (Finola Hughes) will turn out to be Peter’s mother and he seems to have a Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) connection, too. Do you see what we’re getting at? General Hospital likes crazy curveballs and mindbenders. Are they really going to let Nathan’s death play out without any wacky bombshells?
There’s a chance that Nathan’s death will turn out to be a ruse. Some GH fans noticed that Dr. Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) wasn’t quite as hysterical as Maxie (Kirsten Storms) and Nina (Michelle Stafford). She was upset, but her mild sadness could tell a different story.
What if Dr. O faked Nathan’s death to protect him? A drug could’ve been used to temporarily stop his heart or something along those lines. Jason (Steve Burton) will deliver the news of Faison’s (Anders Hove) death on Thursday, but there’s no guarantee that will truly pan out. It could all be a dirty trick that allows Faison to escape.
In that case, Dr. O’s potential plan could go awry. Faison might swipe Nathan’s sedated body and take off with him. Dr. Obrecht wouldn’t want Maxie and her baby to land in harm’s way, so she might look into this on her own. She might let everyone keep believing Nathan’s dead while she investigates.
Since Nathan would already be stuck in Faison’s grasp, there’d be no point in roping others into it. Dr. Obrecht could feel like she’s made a big enough mess already! Perhaps Faison could even contact Dr. O and threaten to wipe out Nathan’s family if she spills anything.
That kind of story sounds much more GH-like than a basic death from a gunshot wound. Do you like the idea of a bogus demise for Nathan? General Hospital spoilers hint that chaos is brewing, so stay tuned. We’ll give you updates as other details emerge.
