The Young and the Restless spoilers tease that Vickie (Amelia Heinle) will need to work a long time to repair the self-inflicted damage she caused. Her professional career is in tatters after the crazy scheme she and Jack (Peter Bergman) concocted rightfully blew up in their faces.
There have been times in the past where Victor (Eric Braeden) injected unwanted trouble into his daughter’s life. There were many moments where Billy (as played by various actors before Jason Thompson) made Vickie’s life unstable. But Miss Newman knows that any mirror she looks into will reveal the person who damaged her professional reputation.
As Y&R viewers recall, Vickie went to work for Jill (Jess Walton) a few years ago. Brash and Sassy was then led by an ill-formed trio, which included Victoria, Billy and Cane (Daniel Goddard).
Eventually, Jill decided to sell so she could use her riches to improve whatever parts of the world she subjectively saw as most in need. Victor encouraged Vickie to use her resources to buy Jill out and she did.
Brash and Sassy was soon driven into the ground due to Vickie’s inconsistent leadership and lack of management skills. That led to Victor buying Brash and Sassy, thereby reincorporating the once-Newman division that Vickie first led.
Vickie returned to Newman with a chip on her shoulder the size of Super Bowl sore winner Jason Kelce. Like the football player, Vickie failed to recognize that the victorious have no rational reason to complain. Her roughshod ride over the Newman Enterprises staff caused serious blowback, forced Lily (Christel Khalil) to leave and inflamed Abby (Melissa Ordway), which proved deadly.
Abby already knew, not felt, that Vickie assumed superiority over her. So, when having the opportunity to get the goods on her sister and turn them over to their dad, Abby surely did.
Only the haughty, like Vickie and Jack, would not be satisfied with the solid positions they were given by their family’s positions of power and wealth. Together, they’ve incited Victor and Ashley’s wrath. That joint effort was not only reckless, but has created real consequences.
Jack is his own worst enemy, but what was Vickie thinking? She’s far smarter than him, or appeared to be. Vickie avoided the concept of gratitude and humility by becoming a sore winner. People who use their free will to make that choice aren’t good role models and actually aren’t winners either, instead they’re small.
The problems Vickie created for others will resonate for awhile. Her family connections, brains or looks won’t help her now and she has only herself to blame. CDL is a leading source for everything linked to The Young and the Restless. Check back regularly for Y&R spoilers and news!
