General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) will be in denial. Nina (Michelle Stafford) seems determined to move forward with the divorce, so the end of their marriage may be near. She’s certainly fed up with Valentin’s constant lies and manipulation.
Nina just doesn’t think she can take it anymore. This isn’t the first time Valentin’s broken her trust and it probably won’t be the last if she stands by him. Despite Nina’s deep feelings for her husband, she doesn’t want to keep opening herself up to more drama. Life’s too short to live like this.
General Hospital spoilers say Nina will focus on scoring her freedom. She’ll think she can save her sanity by getting out of this relationship, but Valentin will have another plan in mind. Right now, Valentin’s just waiting and hoping that Nina will come around. He understands that she’s angry, but she usually finds a way to settle down and forgive him.
However, things are a little different this time. Nina can put up with a lot, but not when it involves the death of her brother. Nathan’s (Ryan Paevey) demise might’ve been prevented if Valentin had come clean about Peter’s (Wes Ramsey) identity. Valentin pointed out that they can’t know that for sure, but Nina still feels like Valentin contributed to Nathan’s grim fate.
Once Valentin’s served with divorce papers, he’ll most likely continue to deny what’s happening. Valentin may refuse to sign them and resort to begging. He’ll desperately want Nina to help him put their family back together.
Nevertheless, instant forgiveness would be far too easy. There’s a good chance Nina and Valentin will indeed reunite down the road, but she’d better make him work for it! Valentin deserves to suffer on his own for a while and start the slow process of winning Nina over.
What’s it going to take to spark a reunion? There are a few ways General Hospital could take this. Valentin could be gravely injured doing something heroic, which usually does the trick for damaged soap romances. There’s nothing like almost losing someone to make you realize how much he or she means to you.
Then again, GH could go for something crazier like Nina’s surprise pregnancy or some shocking revelations about Nathan. If Nathan’s death was faked, that might be an interesting secret for Valentin to learn. The show probably wants to hold off on a recast since Ryan Paevey might return one day. Still, they could open up the possibility of a faked death and leave viewers hanging for a while.
Regardless, Valentin will likely get back on Nina’s good side somehow. Will it happen before or after the divorce? Are you rooting for Valentin and Nina to make it work?
