General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that several relationships will start to shift. Major changes are brewing in Port Charles, so some couples will call it quits while new duos come together. Let’s take a look at three romantic shakeups and see what they could mean for the GH characters involved.
1. Ava and Griffin Torn Apart
The writing’s on the wall for Griffin (Matt Cohen) and Ava (Maura West). Some viewers thought they were a mismatch from the start. Others thought they were a refreshing change of pace. No matter which camp you fall in, you’ll probably be seeing the last of “GrAva” soon.
Relationships are all about drama on soaps, but there’s only so much one romance can take. Griffin’s been reluctant to declare his love for Ava and he’s constantly judging her for her the things she does. He disapproved of Ava using Mike’s (Max Gail) illness to score custody. Griffin also had something to say about Ava’s choice of song at the Nurses Ball. Most GH fans agree that wasn’t a big deal!
Plus, Ava took a peek at the test results Griffin was hiding. That secret’s bound to explode eventually. Of course, Griffin and Kiki’s (Haley Erin) hookup should be the real deal-breaker! Griffin could be moving in Kiki’s direction soon enough. What about Ava? General Hospital could stand to recast Nikolas or even Morgan right about now. Ava needs another love interest, so we’ll see if GH can deliver.
2. New Paths for Michael and Nelle
Nelle (Chloe Lanier) believes she still has a shot with Michael (Chad Duell), but it’s becoming crystal clear that she doesn’t. Michael’s manipulating her, so Nelle will have to face the facts eventually. Will General Hospital finally let Nelle out of the Corinthos bubble? We’ll see the first rumblings of that soon.
Chase (Josh Swickard) and Nelle’s pasts are intertwined somehow, so there might’ve been a spark at one time. It’s possible GH will give these two a shot. However, it might be better to bring in some edgy guy for Nelle. She needs a real rebel who’s fine with her scheming.
Why not reveal that Nelle’s fiancé, Zack, is alive? If he faked his death to get away from his crazy family, he could reconnect with Nelle and bond over plotting. Whatever the case, Nelle will hopefully find someone new. As for Michael, he should give that cute nurse a call! Francesca (Celesta DeAstis) told him to keep her number, so maybe they’ll have another chance at happiness.
3. Maxie Finds Love After Nathan
Maxie (Kirsten Storms) has been grieving the loss of her beloved husband, Nathan (Ryan Paevey), but the mourning period doesn’t last long on GH. General Hospital spoilers suggest that Maxie will kick off a new romance soon, but will it be with Peter (Wes Ramsey)? She was emotional over that letter he wrote, so she may be inching toward forgiveness.
Nevertheless, Chase could emerge as a wildcard candidate. It looks like GH had a chem test in mind for Chase and Maxie, but the plan was blown when Storms was out sick with the flu. Chase shared sweet scenes with Molly Burnett’s version instead. Perhaps General Hospital will try again at some point. Maxie and Chase just might make a sexy couple!
