Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers tease that one NBC soap star is speaking out about a loved one’s battle. Deidre Hall (Marlena Evans) recently shared some news about her mother on social media. She revealed the tough diagnosis that led to her mom’s vision loss as well as the loss of her independence.
Hall’s mother has an eye disease called wet age-related macular degeneration. There weren’t a lot of good treatments at the time of her diagnosis, so Hall’s mom couldn’t get much help. Fortunately, things have changed and there’s hope for those who have this condition. That’s why Hall’s sharing this message. She wants to spread the word and let people know the symptoms to watch out for.
Hall’s mom noticed the straight lines painted on the road were becoming wavy. That’s a tell-tale sign of wet age-related macular degeneration. Hall explained that her mom went to the eye doctor and was diagnosed with wet AMD, which is a great tip for those who suddenly experience this same waviness. It’s best to know what you’re up against.
That’s especially true since this disease can be treated if caught quickly enough. The sooner you can get to an eye doctor and divulge your symptoms, the better off you’ll be. Hall teamed up with biotechnology company called Regeneron to increase awareness and highlight what can be done.
Many Days of Our Lives fans were glad to see Hall focusing on this important issue. One Twitter user said, “Thank you for sharing. My mom had 3 eye surgeries last year and is still healing. The more info we have can help us help each other.”
Another Days viewer said, “Thank you for opening our eyes to…this terrible disease. Eye health is one of our most important and necessary causes and particularly dear to my heart. Sharing for us all.” Several other DOOL watchers shared personal stories and insisted Hall was an inspiration. It’s nice when Days stars can use their platform for a good cause.
As for what’s next in Salem, Days of Our Lives spoilers say Diana Cooper (Judith Chapman) has some sneaky tricks in store for Marlena! We’ll give you updates as other details emerge. Stay tuned to DOOL and don’t forget to check CDL often for the latest Days of Our Lives spoilers, updates and news.
