Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers tease that a familiar face will soon be returning to Salem. Valerie Grant (Vanessa Williams) will be returning to canvas starting on Wednesday, May 1. It’s unclear at this point whether she’ll be back just for a visit or for a more extended stay, but her reappearance will surely have a big effect on Abe Carver’s (James Reynolds) life.
DOOL viewers haven’t seen Valerie since November 2018, when she left Salem for a Chief of Staff position at a hospital in Washington, DC. She and Abe were a pretty serious couple at the time, and Abe wasn’t happy about her decision to leave, but he eventually came around and the couple decided to embark on a long-distance relationship so that Valerie could live her professional dream.
But the long-distance thing didn’t exactly work out as planned. Viewers haven’t been given a lot of details about Valerie and Abe’s relationship status lately, but it’s been clear that there’s some strain there. Valerie is crazy busy in her new position, and of course Abe can’t really leave Salem for extended periods now that he’s embroiled in a vicious mayoral campaign against Jack Deveraux (Matthew Ashford).
It will be interesting to see exactly why Valerie returns. She may simply miss Abe and want to spend some quality time with him. However, when she returns, she’ll find that some things have changed. Abe has gotten closer to Sheila Watkins (Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins) lately, as Sheila has taken a very supportive role in Abe’s life. Valerie may be in for a surprise when she realizes just how close Sheila and Abe have become.
In fact, we might just see some conflict between Sheila and Valerie. It will probably be a big adjustment for Sheila as Valerie comes back and takes her place beside Abe. There will surely be some awkward moments between these three, and it the whole thing might provoke some feelings of jealousy between the two women, with Abe smack dab in the middle.
And of course, any conflict in Abe’s love life will just be fodder for Jack and Eve Donovan (Kassie DePaiva). Days of Our Lives spoilers say that Jack will soon spot a moment between Sheila and Abe, and he’ll try to use it to his advantage in the campaign. Who knows, Jack and Eve could decide to cause trouble for Abe by leaking to the press that he’s involved in a “love triangle” or something to that effect. Who would put it past them?
