The Code Recap 5/20/19: Season 1 Episode 7 “Above the Knee”

Another exciting episode will begin on CBS tonight with their new series named “The Code” on Monday, May 20, 2019, season 1 episode 7 “Above the Knee”,  On tonight’s The Code episode as per CBS’ synopsis, “Harper gets caught in a firefight when she, Abe and Maya travel to Syria to investigate a Marine accused of desertion. Also, Col. Turnbull travels to Germany to be with her wounded son, Adam.”

Colonel Turnbull is on a flight to see her son. Although he was rescued she hasn’t heard from him in 15 hours.

Back at base, trey tells the team that he is in charge. Trey tells Harper she is with him. They head to see Abe. They have a new case for him. They have a marine who went AWOL and fought for another country for 6 months. Abe will prosecute while Maya will work defense. Maya heads to meet him.

Tark, the accused officer, insists he followed the mission and is not a deserter. He is also up for Medal of Honor. With everyone up to speed, Harper, Maya, and Abe go back and forth on a possible deal. They don’t come to an agreement.

Abe arrives at court to meet Harper. At the hearing, Dark waves his rights on Article 32. He would like to keep his council. Looks like Abe and Harper are headed to Syria. Meanwhile, Turnbull arrives to discover Adam isn’t just dehydrated but needs to have his leg amputated.

Turnbull meets with the doctor. Adam went septic after a leg injury. The doctor tried to save his leg but she couldn’t.

Harper is upset she can’t take the whole week with her fiancé and has to head to Turkey. Later, Abe, Maya, and Harper arrive. They meet with an official named Dyer on Tark, who tells them he is well-liked and seen as a hero. Harper spends time with an officer. They bond over school and stone fruit.

The next day, Abe, Harper and Maya head to meet another Colonel on Tark. He has nothing but good things to say. The Colonel and his men seem to have rehearsed. They decide to head across town to check a few things out. Harper and Dyer stick together. Dyer tells them to get back before sunset.

Night falls, Abe and Maya aren’t back yet. Dyer and Harper head out with other officers. On the road, they encounter rebels who light of a bomb.

Under heavy fire, Harper, Dyer and several other soldiers take cover. They exchange fire back and forth. Harper hesitates to shoot until a fellow officer tells her it won’t hurt. Seconds later, an officer next to her is shot in the head. Now the top ranking officer, the soldiers ask Harper what the game plan is. She asks another officer for his opinion.

Turnbull finally meets with her son. He is out of it. She tells him she is with him for whatever comes next.

Harper and the other officers head to the roof of a nearby building. They all take shots. Harper has to talk herself through it while taking breaths. They fight their way through to safety. Harper is upset but hides it. They all head back to base. Abe comes in to see her cleaning her gun with blood on her face. They only nod to one another and carry on.

Later, they get on the hanger to head back. Harper tells Abe she is fine. They talk about the case. He thinks she should sit this one out. She tells him no, she has this.

In court, Abe cross-examines an officer. Harper has trouble finding the files, causing an embarrassment for them.

Back at the office, Trey tells Abe that Harper needs a break. At home, Harper answers the door to Rami. She forgot her bag. He asks her about what happened and she asks him about his new gig. She swears she is okay. She looks in her things Rami brought. Dyer’s things are in there. He has pictures of Tark with the rebels. She rushes the next day to meet Abe outside court. They have proof he is a deserter.

They all meet with Tark behind closed doors. He cannot deny it. Harper shows him the marines who died next to her all because he lied and the case carried on.

Abe visits Alex who tells him she doesn’t expect him to be around all the time. He can take some time to figure things out. Having a family takes a lot of work. He tells her he is in.

Turnbull watches as Adam has his amputated leg dressed. They talk about his recovery and the wrong road ahead. She excused herself to cry on the other side of the wall.

Harper dresses for Dyer’s funeral. Her fiancee comes home. She tells him she hasn’t told him much. They need to talk.
