The Young and the Restless spoilers tease that Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) and Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) will do everything in their power to make sure that Sharon Case (Sharon Newman) and Chelsea Boudreau (Melissa Claire Egan) stand strong against Adam Newman (Mark Grossman). While both ladies appear to recognize his bad intentions, this recast character does have a way of influencing the realities of those who care about him.
Sharon wanted to see the good in Adam. She felt a debt to him for having rescued her from the Newman Ranch fire and in helping her to receive needed mental health treatment. But those are yesterday’s acts.
Today’s Adam, recast by the smartly played Grossman, who’s character is being written deeply dark, is reeling. As Chelsea told him, he’s chosen to be who he is now. No blaming her, Nick, or anyone else for the person he’s developed into.
Chelsea implied that she would have been willing to reconcile with him, based upon Calvin Boudreau’s (John Burke) passing. But Adam’s impulse to take Connor Newman (Gunner and Ryder Gadbois) from her and then to try and convince Paul Williams (Doug Davidson) that Chelsea was implicated in, or directly, caused Calvin’s death made Egan’s character see the light.
Sharon told Adam that he was selfish and cold-hearted. Shortly thereafter, in the beautiful, outdoor Chancellor Park setting, she relayed her current feelings about Adam to Rey.
Chelsea appears to be more likely to be eventually swayed by Adam’s charms. The link they have to Connor means that some type of court created contact will cause regular interaction with her former husband and more importantly, deep love.
Sharon’s relationship with Adam happened in the distant past. It was so far back that Justin Hartley (Adam), who played this character prior to Grossman’s recent hire, didn’t have a romantic connection with Case’s alter ego between 2014 and 2016, when that actor played the part.
Rey’s marital strife with Mia Rosales (Naomi Gonzalez), memories of his parent’s troubles, and his newness with Sharon combine to make him naturally leery. He likely won’t feel secure with her until more time passes.
As for Nick, he was burned by Chelsea. Her sudden flee from Genoa City, Wisconsin, last year could happen again. Next time she could leave with Adam, or at least Nick hopes not.
For the moment, Sharon and Chelsea are serious about being done with Adam. The men who care about them hope they continue to stand strong against the man who wronged them both and surely is a threat to do so again. Who do you think is going wind up falling for Adam, Chelsea or Sharon?
