Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers tease that Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan) will feel like his future with Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker) is bright. Thanks to DOOL’s recent time jump, we’ve been catching up with all our favorite Salemites one year later. Unfortunately, most of their lives have completely fallen apart! At least there are still a few happy couples in town, and one of them’s “Ericole.”
Nicole and Eric’s relationship managed to survive the tumultuous year so many others faced. Of course, Eric doesn’t know Nicole’s keeping a huge secret from him. She’s hiding the paternity of Sarah Horton’s (Linsey Godfrey) baby along with Xander Cook (Paul Telfer) and Sarah herself. Nicole knows Eric would love to have a child of his own, so it’s a big deal for her to deceive him like this.
That’s especially true since Nicole’s deception has derailed their romance before. Secrets just don’t work out well for Nicole, but it seems she’s never going to learn! Days of Our Lives spoilers say Nicole’s lie will come back to bite her soon, but “Ericole” will remain strong and steady in the meantime. Could this couple be poised to take the next step? Is an engagement coming up for Eric and Nicole?
It certainly looks that way based on new Days of Our Lives spoilers. During the week of November 18-22, Eric will confide in Roman Brady (Josh Taylor). He’ll talk about his plans and what he expects to share with Nicole moving forward. Eric will describe the future he imagines, which naturally includes Nicole and Holly Jonas (Harlow and Scarlett Mallory).
Since Eric’s so focused on the future, it’s reasonable to think he may buy a ring and pop the question. That would be the logical thing to do since Eric’s madly in love and wants to spend the rest of his life with Nicole. After Eric opens up to Roman, Days spoilers say Nicole will be blown away by a surprise. That also lines up with Eric potentially proposing and trying to make Nicole his beloved fiancée.
We can’t forget Nicole and Eric have been on solid ground for a year offscreen. They’ve always been portrayed as soul mates. Many DOOL fans are rooting for an “Ericole” wedding, but will Nicole’s secret destroy their chances?
Never count out Nicole and Eric’s seemingly everlasting love, but this will definitely be a setback. Nicole will drop a bomb on Eric during the week of November 25-29, so guilt may drive her to confess Eric is Sarah’s “baby daddy.” She may not want to get married with this secret hanging over them.
However, Mackenzie “Mickey” Horton probably isn’t truly Sarah and Eric’s baby. It appears Mickey belongs to Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) and Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) based on how the story’s playing out. That would make Eric and Sarah’s child the one that died. It wouldn’t let Nicole off the hook, but it might lessen the impact of the damage.
Since it’s doubtful this kid is Eric’s, it seems Nicole’s deception won’t be the reason he doesn’t get to raise her. Maybe that’ll help a little down the road!
