The Young and the Restless spoilers review for Monday, January 6, tease that Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) will try to get a chilly Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) to keep talking about the big revelation that Tessa has just made – that she was previously married to Tanner Watts (Chase Coleman). Mariah will angrily note that “come on tour with me” has a very different meaning when it comes from one’s ex-husband. But Tessa will insist that she and Tanner were never in love.
Tessa will then explain about how she and Tanner got married in Reno after partying heavily, and that she was a mess then, as was Tanner. She’ll insist that they only got together because they were at the same place at the same time with the same crazy dream.
Mariah won’t be having it and will point out that they could have annulled the marriage, but they didn’t. Tessa will say that the marriage lasted 3 months and one day she and Tanner realized they had no business being together.
Mariah will get it, but she’ll say that the second Tanner connected Tessa, then Tessa should have told her that she was marred to him in the past. Mariah will say that she feels like an idiot, and she’ll need time to think. She’ll then leave, with Tessa pleading with her not to go. Later, Tanner will show up at the door, asking Tessa if now is a bad time.
Meanwhile, on the new episode of Y&R on Monday, January 6, Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) will try to keep herself busy as she works at Crimson Lights, when Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) notices that she seems pretty ramped up.
Sharon will allude to needing to handle a few things on her own, and Rey will invite her to lunch, but she’ll decline, the whole time seeming distracted. She’ll make up an excuse about meeting a coffee distributor, even though she’s really got a doctor’s appointment.
She’ll keep her concerns and the fact that she found a lump from Rey, even though she’s nearly in tears at one point, and later she’ll call to make an appointment for a mammogram and ultrasound.
Sharon seems very concerned about the whole thing but will be determined to keep the whole thing to herself, probably out of fear of making it seem real. She’ll then get interrupted by Mariah, who will want to talk after her confrontation with Tessa.
Next, at Adam Newman’s (Mark Grossman) penthouse, Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) will arrive with Connor Newman’s (Judah Mackey) favorite donuts, all in preparation for telling Connor that they’ll be living with Adam permanently.
They’ll call Connor downstairs, and he’ll sense that something’s up, since they only have his favorite donuts for celebrations or if something’s wrong.
Adam and Chelsea will tell a wary Connor that he and Chelsea won’t be going back to Nick Newman’s (Joshua Morrow) place and that they’re staying at the penthouse permanently. Connor will be very serious as Adam explains that they’re building a family so strong that it will never break down. Suddenly, Connor will start sobbing, and Adam will wonder what’s wrong.
Chelsea will then sit by Connor, realizing that he’s crying happy tears. Later, while Connor is upstairs, Chelsea will overhear Adam on the phone scheduling an appointment with a new therapist to help with some of the issues Connor has been having at school.
Chelsea will note that he seemed very driven and determined to make things right for Connor, and that being the object of that kind of love can be terrifying.
Adam will say that he doesn’t intend to be pressuring her, and that he realizes that he’s not entitled to anything; rather, he has to earn things back and prove to her that he deserves a second chance.
Adam will admit to being scared and knowing that when she is ready to move on, he knows that it will be their last shot. Chelsea will remind him that she needs time, and he’ll look after her as she heads out of the room.
