The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers for the week of January 20-24 tease that some shockers are on the way. First, let’s talk about what’s brewing between Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) and Summer Newman (Hunter King). After Theo Vanderway (Tyler Johnson) pushes his buttons again, Kyle will be agitated going into this trip. He’ll be convinced Theo’s going to make a play for Lola Abbott (Sasha Calle) while he’s away.
In San Francisco, Kyle will manage to concentrate on work for a while. He’ll close a tricky cosmetic deal with Summer, so they’ll pat themselves on the back afterward. It won’t be long until Summer and Kyle are hitting the mini bar in one of their hotel suites. Y&R fans can expect some close moments as they open up to each other.
Kyle will wonder if Summer’s really done with Theo, so she’ll admit things are indeed over. She’s moving on with her life. Kyle will think that’s great news since Summer deserves so much better than Theo. There’ll also be talk about Kyle’s marriage and if he’s truly happy.
One thing will lead to another and Kyle will suddenly kiss Summer. He’ll throw boundaries out the window and set himself up for major problems. Back in Genoa City, Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) will surprise her family with a big announcement. She’ll be quite excited about a special project she has in the works.
Over with Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle), she’ll find it difficult to get on the same wavelength as Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson). They just won’t be connecting at all. As for Billy, his daring move could land him in some trouble. In fact, it may be what prompts Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) to set some limits – which is exactly what she’ll do in the week ahead.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Billy and Victoria’s stalemate could lead to some Newman family conflict. Nikki and Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) won’t have the same opinion, and it looks like it may be due to all the “Villy” feuding.
Next, Fenmore “Fen” Baldwin (Zach Tinker) will leave Lauren Baldwin (Tracey E. Bregman) and Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) stunned. Will Fen face a setback or is his recovery perhaps not as solid as he let on? Then again, Fen could have a new career path in mind or something else that’s positive.
Whatever the case, Michael and Lauren will do their best to support Fen. Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) will also need plenty of support as she continues to deal with her cancer diagnosis. She’ll focus on preparing for chemo, which will pave the way for surgery. However, Sharon will definitely find herself feeling overwhelmed during this crisis.
As for Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes), she should feel overwhelmed as well. Between Sharon’s cancer and Tessa Porter’s (Cait Fairbanks) time away on tour, Mariah will face some struggles. Those struggles may be made worse by Tanner Watts (Chase Coleman), who has more appearances scheduled during the week of January 20-24.
Mariah’s clearly bothered by Tessa collaborating with her ex-husband and any bonding they might be doing. Since Tessa declared herself gay on the air, it’s doubtful Y&R will risk the backlash of going against that now – particularly since they’ve gotten far bolder about how they portray intimacy between Mariah and Tessa. Of course, Tanner could still make an unwanted move, and Mariah’s insecurities may take a toll regardless.
Other Young and the Restless spoilers say Phyllis Summers’ (Michelle Stafford) plan will hit a snag. She’s working a flirting angle with “Chance” Chancellor (Donny Boaz), but it may not turn out as well as she hopes – at least not right away.
Chance will also spend some time conspiring with Adam Newman (Mark Grossman). That Vegas secret of theirs could become a bigger issue than they anticipated down the road! We’ll give you updates as other Y&R details emerge. Stay tuned to the CBS soap and don’t forget to check CDL often for the latest Young and the Restless spoilers, updates and news.
