Other Training Programs For Prison Inmates
That’s not the only training program for prisoners. They also can learn fashion manufacturing, fashion accessories, homeware and more.
While talking to two female prisoners attending the training program, they cried as they spoke about missing their families. One even burst into tears when telling the Duchess of Cornwall about her upcoming release date. Camilla listened to their stories with a sympathetic ear.
Duchess of Cornwall Encourages Inmates
While in the prison library, Camilla learned that the prisoners are organizing a literary festival, Penned Up. Guest speakers include George the Poet and Levi Roots. They apparently invited Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex. However, it is unknown if she has responded. Camilla responded,
“’This festival is a marvelous idea. You will all learn so much from it.”
Camilla really made a positive impression on the female inmates. Perhaps she will make another visit someday soon.
