Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers reveal that one NBC soap alum has died at the age of 72. Geno Silva played the role of Domingo Salazar on Days in 1991, so longtime DOOL fans may remember his brief stint. Sadly, Silva suffered complications of a frontotemporal degeneration and passed away on May 9.
If you can’t recall Silva’s time on Days of Our Lives or perhaps weren’t watching back then, you might recognize him from his other film and television roles. Silva played in Scarface, Amistad, The Lost World: Jurassic Park and many more movies over the years.
You may have also spotted Silva in TV appearances on The A-Team, Miami Vice, MacGyver, Alias, Star Trek: Enterprises and plenty of others. Silva’s final IMDb credit is for a series called Cane back in 2007, but he’s got roles dating all the way back to 1974.
This hard-working actor poured decades of his life into entertainment and has long list of parts as proof.
This is certainly sad news for Silva’s loved ones as well as the soap world. Our hearts go out to Silva’s family and friends as they mourn this tough loss. It’s always hard to lose someone you care about, but Days of Our Lives viewers are definitely sending their love during this difficult time.
On Twitter, many fans offered tribute tweets to Silva. “RIP veteran character actor, Geno Silva…So many roles,” one Twitter user said. “Heartbreaking,” said another. Silva’s roles earned him praise – particularly for his turn as Scarface’s The Skull.
As for what’s next in Salem, Days of Our Lives spoilers say Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) will keep trying to put one foot in front of the other. Letting Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) and Rachel Black go was a decision Brady had to make, but that doesn’t make it any easier to live without them.
Now that Brady’s teamed up with Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey) for revenge, that should provide a good distraction.
