The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that there’s been a lot of clashing going on at Jabot. That was mostly due to Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) and Theo Vanderway (Tyler Johnson), who got himself fired after cheating in a pitch competition. Things may settle down now that Theo’s out of the picture, but that’s not really a good thing since we need some drama!
Business battles should be particularly important once Y&R returns with new episodes. Due to social distancing and other safety protocols, love stories may have to take a backseat.
There’ll certainly be couples that stick together without showing physical affection and perhaps some characters that pine from afar. Still, shifting to business and other less romantic routes would be helpful.
With that in mind, we have to consider what’s next at Jabot. Newman Enterprises has been facing more than enough upheaval thanks to another game of musical CEO chairs. Should Jabot get in on the action with a major shakeup at the top?
Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) was impressed by Kyle’s latest pitch, so things are going well between this father and son. Summer Newman’s (Hunter King) work has also gained Jack’s approval, but none of this sets up much of anything. It’s not a story if everyone’s just patting each other on the back as Jabot’s numbers go though the roof.
The best way to cause drama would be for Summer and Kyle to screw up massively. They seem to be getting a bit smug about their talent at the company, so let’s take them down a peg. Maybe Summer and Kyle’s next idea could crash and burn. If it leads to enough conflict, it could even spark a change in leadership.
Jack took a step back from work to be there for Dina Mergeron (Marla Adams), so this Jabot drama may have to wait until Dina dies and the family grieves for a while.
However, that’s also the kind of thing that could alter lives and put people on new paths. Jack might determine that retirement looks good on Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) and make his decision to step away permanent.
Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson), on the other hand, shows no signs of wanting to leave the corporate world behind. Dina was a real go-getter in business, so her death might even rev up Ashley’s desire to get more involved at Jabot. Should Ashley take over as CEO again?
Kyle made a big fuss about how he might walk if Jack didn’t put him on the throne, which led to Jack and Kyle becoming co-CEOs. Nevertheless, things could change if Jabot takes a serious hit or two.
Many Young and the Restless fans would like to see more of Ashley, so perhaps she should swoop in and steal the CEO spot. Ashley might tell Kyle he knows where the door is and suggest the family legacy has to come first!
If Kyle was bluffing, he could still stick around and spar with Ash. Summer would naturally be involved in all this as well. Since Newman Enterprises is a big rival for Jabot, it’d be fun to watch Ashley and Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) go up against each other. That’d be quite the war.
Regardless, some business stories are needed – and so is a way to shake things up at Jabot. Putting Ashley in the CEO chair would be a great strategy to accomplish both goals.
The blood-only Abbott clause is long gone, so there’s no reason Ashley can’t take control! As other Y&R news comes in, we’ll keep you posted on the latest updates.
