General Hospital (GH) spoilers for the next two weeks tease that some exciting encores are in store. During the week of July 6-10, the ABC soap will take us back to more memorable moments for the Corinthos clan. The theme will remain centered around Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) relationship with his children.
Monday’s 2008 episode features Sonny as a man with a plan. He’s all set to change his life and hopefully avoid putting his kids in so much danger. Sadly, that plan doesn’t come together fast enough. Sonny’s already got a deadly target on his back – and Michael Corinthos (then played by Dylan Cash) plays the price for it when he’s accidentally shot instead.
On Tuesday, GH fans can rewatch the 2010 classic involving Michael’s (Chad Duell) huge confession. Michael decides to tell the truth to the judge, who listens to Michael’s story of killing Claudia Zacchara (Sarah Joy Brown) to protect his baby sister. All Michael could think about in the moment he swung the ax was preventing Josslyn Jacks’ kidnapping.
In Wednesday’s 2010 episode, Michael is sent to prison. The judge appreciates the way Michael’s owned up to his actions, but he still believes Michael should head to the slammer. On Thursday, Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Lexi Ainsworth) is upset following a bus accident and feels guilty about the death of her friend. Sonny supports Kristina and lets her know it wasn’t her fault in this 2011 classic.
Friday’s 2016 episode involves Kristina opening up to Sonny about Parker Forsyth (Ashley Jones). Sonny’s confused since he saw Kristina kissing an older woman, so Kristina fills him in.
She does her best to answer Sonny’s questions about her sexuality, although Kristina remains confused herself. In the end, Sonny vows to love his daughter no matter what label she might choose.
During the week of July 13-17, General Hospital will skip the theme and just air some recent encores instead. Since GH is hoping to resume production in mid-July, these May shows will serve as good recaps of what’s already happened. Let’s talk about some of the drama that’ll replay in these episodes.
Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) punches Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson) in the nose before getting on Harrison Chase’s (Josh Swickard) bad side again. After Brook Lynn gets herself arrested, she’s incensed.
Meanwhile, Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers) has too much to drink as he copes with the death of Holly Sutton (Emma Samms), which leads to lashing out after a Peter August (Wes Ramsey) run-in.
Michael takes Sasha to GH and upsets her by being far too kind. Sasha didn’t really cheat with Chase, but she knows Michael isn’t in the loop. Seeing Michael’s compassionate side is just another reminder of the great love Sasha’s lost.
Later, Michael and Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) prepare for battle. As part of that plan, Willow agrees to marry Michael – and they indeed tie the knot. Nelle Benson (Chloe Lanier) is busy trying to convince Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) to back her up in court, but she finds time to gain some blackmail material and learn about the “Millow” marriage.
While Nelle plots to make Julian Jerome (William deVry) her husband, Sonny deals with the pain of Mike Corbin’s (Max Gail) decline. As for Mac Scorpio (John J. York), he admits new Holly details to Robert. Mac also scolds Chase over Brook Lynn’s recent arrest and advises him to make peace before this starts looking like harassment.
Later, Willow shows up to tell Chase in person that she married Michael. Chase wishes Willow luck in court, but he’s obviously struggling over his fake affair secret and this whole terrible situation. We’ll give you updates as other GH news emerges on future episodes.
