General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) has a lot on her plate right now, and one of the things that she’s heavily involved with is Michael Corinthos’ (Chad Duell) custody battle. As GH viewers know, Nelle Benson Jerome (Chloe Lanier) is suing for full custody of Wiley Quartermaine Corinthos (Theo and Erik Olson), and everyone has rallied around to protect Wiley from the likes of Nelle.
That includes Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen), who decided to marry Michael in order to bolster his chances of winning the custody case.
But that marriage between Michael and Willow never would have happened if Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson) and Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) hadn’t engaged in a big deception.
As GH viewers know, Sasha floated the idea of Willow and Michael getting married quite a while before the marriage actually happened. Both Michael and Willow poo-poohed the idea, as did Chase, but as the custody hearing got closer, it became apparent to Sasha and Chase that the marriage needed to happen for Wiley’s sake.
After all, Diane Miller (Carolyn Hennesy), who is representing Michael in the custody case, seemed to think that Michael marrying Willow was the only way to get a leg up on Nelle in the case.
But still, Michael and Willow wouldn’t agree to get married, with Willow especially taking issue with marrying Michael when she was so much in love with Chase. So, Sasha and Chase decided to fake an affair, so that all obstacles to Willow marrying Michael would be squashed.
Well, Sasha and Chase’s plot worked, but there was some serious collateral damage. Both Chase and Sasha became absolutely miserable. Chase had some difficulty going back to work with his breakup and Willow and Michael’s marriage on his mind.
But Sasha had some much more serious coping problems. Sasha couldn’t compose herself and kept crying at work, to the point where she needed a little pick-me-up in the form of some drugs provided by someone on the Deception staff.
Sadly, Sasha took the drugs, which worked wonders on her mood and perked her right up for work, and she was able to finish the photo shoot she needed to get done. Sometime later, the same staff member provided Sasha with some more drugs…and you can see where this storyline is likely going.
We will probably see Sasha get caught up in the drugs that Cryus Renault (Jeff Kober) is now pushing in Port Charles – perhaps even to the point where she becomes dependent on them.
And if things escalate with Sasha, she could even overdose or become so dependent that she needs to be seeking treatment for her problem. And if things do get that bad for Sasha, especially if she accidentally overdoses or perhaps even consumes a bad batch of drugs and needs emergency treatment, it would be fitting if someone like Carly were to find out about it.
As GH viewers know, Carly is aware of how Sasha and Chase faked their affair, and she’s very grateful to Sasha for putting her own happiness aside and putting Wiley’s well-being first.
So, if Carly sees Sasha suffering from a drug problem, overdose, or bad reaction, she might decide that she needs to step in and tell Michael what’s going on. Perhaps Carly will feel guilty about knowing that Sasha had so much to cope with and was basically left to her own devices with no real support or friends to help her.
If all this happens, then Carly will probably feel that Michael needs to know about the sacrifice that Sasha made, so that he can support her going forward.
We’ll see what happens here, but it certainly seems like something bad is going to happen to Sasha as a result of her taking the drugs, to the point where Carly needs to step in.
