The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) broke from Cane Ashby (Daniel Goddard) more than a year ago. Their divorce saddened Lane fans and appeared to represent the end of this couple’s arc.
Khalil’s return to the cast in more of a regular role happened shortly before the production shutdown. Lily agreed to accept Jill Abbott’s (Jess Walton) executive position offer. But it came with an intriguing caveat, she would co-head Chancellor Industries new media division with Jill’s son.
Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) and Lily have a personal history. So, any seasoned fan who recalls that connection knows that it’s possible they could become close again.

Daniel Romalotti (Michael Graziadei) was an early love for Lily and her first husband, as viewers have either been reminded of, or have learned, based on the length of time they’ve been watching Y&R, through classic episodes.
But Cane became Lily’s true love and the father of her twins, Charlie Ashby (Noah Alexander Gerry) and Mattie Ashby (Lexie Stevenson).
Sam Ashby (most recently portrayed by the Loo twins), Cane’s son with the late Juliet Helton (Laur Allen), hasn’t been mentioned in awhile. So it’s possible that he’s with his dad, or Lily continues to care for him. If not and with the twins away at college, Khalil’s character is on her own.
Young And The Restless Spoilers – Billy Abbott Is An Option
Billy’s relationship list is rather extensive. But it’s not as though Lily was the love of his life. Vickie Newman (Amelia Heinle) will always hold that distinction.
Lily quickly shut Billy down when he appeared to imply that they get together outside of work. So, BiLily (or whatever this couple’s nickname would be) doesn’t seem to be a real option, or at least it’s not one right now.
Young And The Restless Spoilers – Cane Ashby Again Or A Different Direction?
There is no news about Goddard returning to the cast. That’s a shame, as he’s a good actor whose character’s backstory didn’t feel complete.
If no reunion with Cane is in the cards, then other options exist. Lily could remain focused on her career and not pursue romance. She could also date in hopes of enjoying non-drama days out.
