The Young and the Restless spoilers recap for Wednesday, August 12, tease that Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) will sit in the penthouse looking for evidence to prove that his father set him up for the murder of AJ Montalvo.
Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) will be on hand as Adam complains about Victor Newman (Eric Braeden), and eventually Chelsea will step out for a while. Adam will hear from Alyssa Montalvo (Maria DiDomenico) that she’s gone from Genoa City and that he should let the past stay in the past.
Later, Chelsea will show up at the Newman ranch to see Victor. Chelsea will have questions about what happened with Adam all those years ago. Victor will say that he was just trying to protect Adam from the horrible reality of what happened, and that Hope Wilson (Signy Coleman) went along with it too, even though it was difficult.
Chelsea will want some proof that what Victor is saying is true, and Victor will say that the farm’s caretaker helped in the coverup and could corroborate the story. Victor will ask Chelsea to stay by Adam’s side and help him deal with all of this.
At the Grand Phoenix, Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) will arrive to find Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) hard at work. Nate will want to go out with Amanda, but she’ll have too much work to do.
Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) will arrive on the scene as well, wanting to talk to Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) about his offer for her to abandon her hotel project across the street from the Grand Phoenix. Abby, who will be with Chance Chancellor (Donny Boaz), will balk.
Over at Society, Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) and Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy) will be discussing their life together and how happy they are when Nate calls needing help at the clinic.
Elena will rush off at Devon’s urging. Meanwhile, at Crimson Lights, Summer Newman (Hunter King) will talk with Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) about Phyllis and Nick being back together.
Summer will say that she won’t fight it, and after Phyllis leaves, Nick will arrive. Summer will tell her dad that he won’t get any attitude from her.
Back at Adam and Chelsea’s penthouse, Chelsea will return and hear about Alyssa’s message for Adam. Adam will share that he’s going to talk with the farm caretaker next, and Chelsea will question whether he really wants to do that.
Adam will be determined, and he’ll call the caretaker to invite him to Genoa City for a conversation.
Back at the Grand Phoenix, Nick and Phyllis will convene in Phyllis’ room, and through their conversation, Phyllis will admit that she had the construction next door shut down after planting some bones on the property.
Nick will share that he offered to give Abby one of his buildings in exchange for her hotel property. Phyllis will be impressed.
In Abby’s room, Abby will tell Chance that Nick’s offer is tempting, but that sticking it to Phyllis will be too enjoyable to pass up. Abby and Chance will canoodle and after a while the construction noise will stop. Abby will get a call telling her that the site was shut down.
At the clinic, Elena and Nate will be working together, and soon Nate will suggest that Elena go back to her date with Devon. Suddenly, Amanda will show up, saying that there’s more to life than work. Nate will be thrilled, and Elena will head back over to Devon at Society.
