The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers recap for Tuesday, August 18, reveal that Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) visited with Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) at the cliff house. Steffy and Thomas talked about Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) and Shauna Fulton Forrester’s (Denise Richards) marriage, rehashing how it all went down in Las Vegas.
Thomas seemed genuinely upset and surprised by the marriage, and Steffy quipped that she thought maybe Thomas would be happy that Ridge and Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang) were divorced.
Thomas said that while his relationship with Brooke was complicated, he just wanted Ridge to be happy. Steffy then winced in pain as she moved, and Thomas asked where her pain pills were.
Steffy reported that she finished her pills last night and that she had stepped down to over-the-counter pain reliever. Thomas insisted that Steffy needed something stronger, and that he didn’t want to see her in pain, and neither did Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton).
Steffy wondered what Liam had to do with all of this, and Thomas gestured at the photo on the wall of Steffy and Liam. “He’s moved on, and that leaves you behind trying to be supermom.”
Steffy grimaced, saying that this conversation wasn’t helpful. Thomas said that Steffy hadn’t moved on from Liam because she couldn’t. Steffy told Thomas to let it go because she had.
Thomas said he didn’t believe Steffy, and she yelled, “You’re wrong,” but had another pain attack. Thomas insisted that Steffy needed to call the doctor because the pain reliever she was taking wasn’t strong enough.
At the Forrester mansion, Ridge talked with Eric Forrester (John McCook). Ridge moaned about his predicament with Brooke and Shauna, and Eric pointed out that Ridge was in love with Brooke and would be for the rest of his life.
Eric wondered if Ridge actually regretted what happened in Vegas with Shauna, and Ridge said yes but that he couldn’t tell Shauna that.
Eric said that Shauna was in love with Ridge, but Ridge insisted that he was going to fight to get Brooke back. Eric supposed that Ridge should start by being honest with Brooke.
Eric revealed that he talked to Brooke earlier on Ridge’s behalf, and Ridge was grateful, but he kept griping about what he did and how he’s lost Brooke’s trust. “I will try everything I can to win it back,” Ridge said.
At the Forrester CEO office, Quinn Forrester (Rena Sofer) and Brooke continued their verbal sparring. Brooke said that she wondered about Quinn’s hand in all of this happening, but Quinn didn’t give up what she had done.
Quinn blasted Brooke for treating Ridge poorly over the years, and she maintained that Shauna was Ridge’s wife now and his new destiny. Brooke thought that sounded ridiculous.
Soon, Shauna walked in looking for Quinn. Brooke turned to Shauna and started in on how her groom doesn’t remember marrying her. Quinn gloated, saying that Brooke needed to accept her loss, and that Shauna won fair and square.
Brooke said that neither Shauna nor Quinn fooled her, and that the truth would come out eventually. “You may think you’ve succeeded, but Ridge loves me, and he always will,” Brooke said. “And that you can never take away from me.”
Later, after Brooke was gone, Quinn reassured Shauna that everything would be ok if they kept what they did a secret. Shauna flashed back to how Quinn instructed her to use Ridge’s phone to text Carter Walton (Lawrence Saint-Victor) about filing the divorce papers, then she flashed back to Ridge being drunk at the wedding chapel. Shauna complained about feeling guilty for manipulating Ridge.
At Brooke’s place, Brooke sat alone and flashed back to Ridge giving her Stephanie Forrester’s (Susan Flannery) ring and telling her that she’s the new matriarch of the Forrester family.
Ridge walked in, saying that he had to see Brooke. Brooke was standoffish, saying that Ridge had married another woman and filed their divorce papers. Ridge insisted that it could be undone.
Brooke balked and said that she wanted Ridge to leave, but Ridge said that he wouldn’t leave or give up on them. “You already have; you are married to Shauna,” Brooke fired back, also noting that Ridge couldn’t even wait 24 hours before marrying someone else.
Ridge whipped out annulment papers that he had Carter draw up and said that he didn’t want to be married to anyone but Brooke. “Don’t give up on us,” Ridge urged.
