General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) could get a very shocking surprise, and very soon. As GH viewers know, Nina has been on a renewed push to get some answers about her long-lost child, and it seems that she’s on the verge of getting the answers that she’s been longing for, since Jasper “Jax” Jacks (Ingo Rademacher) is on the case.
Jax has his trusty jeweler friend trying to trace Nina’s half-heart pendant, and answers seem right around the corner.
Well, as GH viewers know, the other half of that pendant is in Nelle Benson Jerome’s (Chloe Lanier) possession. And for a while there, it seemed like Nelle and Nina were on the path to a nice, touching mother/daughter reunion.
Nina had given Nelle a position at Crimson, and the two were getting along quite well. It even seemed that Nina was considering giving Nelle a glowing recommendation as a character witness during her testimony in the custody case.
But that didn’t happen, and instead, Nina turned on Nelle and tanked any chances that Nelle had for getting custody of Wiley Quartermaine Corinthos (Erik and Theo Olson). Nina insisted to the judge that Nelle was a compulsive liar.
And by getting in between Nelle and her son, Nina seems to have alienated herself from Nelle forever, which doesn’t seem like a big deal to Nina right now – after all, she has no idea that she’s actually Nelle’s mother.
We have to wonder what’s going to happen once the inevitable happens and Nina realizes or is told that Nelle is her daughter. Under normal circumstances, Nina might go to Nelle and embrace her wholeheartedly, possibly even begging for forgiveness for what she did during the custody hearing.
But now something big has happened – Nelle has slashed Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Briana Lane) in the throat, and that amounts to attempted murder.
Since it seems that Brook Lynn will regain consciousness in short order, she should be able to communicate exactly who did this to her and why, and that’s going to surely lead to a major manhunt for Nelle.
Word about how Nelle tried to kill Brook Lynn is surely going to get out, and that almost surely means that Nina will find out that she’s the mother of someone who remains a physical threat to others.
One wonders what this mother/daughter reunion is actually going to look like, then. It’s probably not going to be a happy, touching event, given that (a) Nelle now hates Nina for tanking her chances of getting Wiley, and (b) Nina will know that Nelle is still a psycho.
In fact, the reunion could now very well take place in prison, since it seems that this is where Nelle is headed.
We’ll see what happens here, but it seems pretty likely that Nelle will reject any attempt of Nina’s to make nice. And who knows – Nina could even initially reject Nelle, although something tells us that given a little time, Nina won’t be able to suppress her motherly instincts.
Nina will probably come around and try to help Nelle in the end, although Nelle might have a hard time forgiving Nina for her statements during the custody hearing.
One thing’s for sure, the big revelation that Nina is Nelle mom is going to be one that fraught with mixed emotions and angst – are you looking forward to seeing how Nina and Nelle find out that they’re mother and daughter?
