Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers tease that Hope Brady (Kristian Alfonso) will make a huge decision – and it’ll lead to a shocking discovery for those she’s left behind.
DOOL fans know Hope was crushed over what she viewed as proof that Ciara Brady Weston (Victoria Konefal) was dead. Now Hope’s grieving the loss, but her story can’t continue on screen since Alfonso opted not to return when the show resumed production in September.
Since Alfonso didn’t want to film her remaining scripts or do any kind of wrap-up for Hope, the show will work around this with a goodbye note.
On October 30, Days of Our Lives spoilers say Jack Deveraux (Matthew Ashford) and Jennifer Deveraux (Cady McClain) will find Hope’s farewell letter. They’ll reel over the contents, so we should hear all about why Hope chose to leave.
During Alfonso’s final scenes, Hope was truly distraught and had definitely started mourning. Perhaps Hope’s letter will reveal that she just needs some time to herself. Hope may explain that there are too many memories of Ciara in Salem, which would make sense under the circumstances.
Doug Williams (Bill Hayes) and Julie Williams (Susan Seaforth Hayes) will also get back in the action on October 30, so they’ll have a chance to grieve for Ciara, too. Jennifer and Jack may fill Julie and Doug in on Hope’s letter since all this will be playing out in the same episode.
Of course, there’s a chance Hope will say goodbye to Salem for a different reason. Upon further reflection, Hope might decide she rejects the evidence. It’s possible there’ll be some lead that Hope follows up on, which could send her off on a search for Ciara.
However, it’s doubtful Hope would reveal that to her family out of fear she might seem crazy. Hope would probably rather let them believe she was just taking a step back from Salem to heal.
Regardless, Alfonso has stated that she’s not returning to Days of Our Lives. DOOL Executive Producer Ken Corday has promised not to recast, but it’s wise to keep an open mind. Alfonso might have a change of heart and return someday.
With Cady McClain sliding in as such an established legacy character like Jennifer, never say never on a Hope recast either.
For now, Hope is gone and won’t be needed for stories anytime soon. The show had already planned to send Hope off canvas for a few months before she decided to quit. Due to how it all went down, Days just had to fill us in on why Hope left town via letter.
