General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) and Willow Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen) will move forward with their annulment plan, but is that really what they should do?
Let’s take a closer look at Willow and Michael’s relationship since there’s more than meets the eye. It’s easy to see why Michael and Willow would be a bit confused about where they stand and how they feel under the circumstances.
As Michael pointed out during their talk leading up to this annulment decision, Willow warned him going into this that she still loved Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard).
Willow also suggested she might not ever love Michael like a wife should love a husband. They both went into this knowing it was an arrangement for Wiley Quartermaine-Corinthos’ (Erik and Theo Olson) sake.
However, Willow more recently pointed out that things were still pretty raw with Chase at the time. Something shifted along the way for Willow and Michael – as evidenced by the kiss they shared and all the loving moments they’ve had as a married couple.
It certainly feels like there’s more going on here than the companionship Michael talked about.
If Michael had let Willow make her spiel first, she was probably going to suggest she wanted a real marriage. As for Michael, he seems to be doing this because he thinks it’s what Willow wants – or at least because he thinks it’s what’s best for her.
Michael doesn’t want to hold Willow back, so he’s pushing for this annulment when he needs to be focusing on honesty. That’s something Willow and Michael vowed to do from the get-go – be honest with each other.
It seems like Michael and Willow are fearful about going all in, so they’re suddenly holding back and putting walls up.
Even Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) seemed perplexed since Willow and Michael looked perfectly happy as far as he could tell. If Michael and Willow could just fully open their hearts to each other, they could have far more than companionship.
Willow and Michael may not be willing to admit it right now, but they’ve fallen in love with each other.
With that in mind, maybe it’s not the best idea to ruin a good thing when they could enjoy family bliss with Wiley and be a happy married couple. Michael and Willow could have it all! They’re the only ones standing in their own way.
Of course, we have to consider the other side of all this. Some GH fans feel like Willow and Michael should reunite with their old loves instead – and there would be some good reasons to justify that, too.
For starters, none of this ever would’ve happened if Chase and Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson) hadn’t put such a dumb plan in motion.
If Sasha and Chase wanted to step aside, that’d be fine. It was always ridiculous to dupe Michael and Willow into thinking they’d been cheated on. Honesty would’ve been the best policy in that case as well, so it’s silly that this predicament even happened.
There’s also no need for the continued deception since Nelle Benson Jerome (Chloe Lanier) is supposedly dead.
Michael and Willow obviously still feel something for their exes and might feel even more if they knew the truth. That could complicate things, but they at least need all the facts before they make huge decisions about the future.
There’s also the matter of chemistry to consider. For some viewers, Chase and Willow had some real fire between them. The same goes for Michael and Sasha.
It seems like Willow and Michael have a sweeter, softer chem instead, so that’s just a matter of preference. Some General Hospital couples are adorable. Others are steamy. There’s a place for every type of couple on a soap!
Should Michael and Willow really annul their marriage to reunite with their previous loves? It seems like Willow and Michael need the whole truth about the fake betrayal scheme before they make that choice.
Nevertheless Chase and Sasha may be out of luck if Michael and Willow can’t turn off the “Millow” magic – and we’d say they’ll indeed struggle to turn off their growing feelings for each other.
