The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) seems to be on the verge of total heartbreak. Things have been unbelievably tense between Chelsea and Adam Newman (Mark Lawson) lately.
Adam once again finds himself drawn to Sharon Newman (Sharon Case), so he probably won’t let this go until a “Shadam” reunion happens.
If Adam gets back together with Sharon, who will comfort Chelsea in the aftermath? Could Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) take pity on Chelsea and give her some support? We can think of some great reasons why Nick would indeed console Chelsea if she loses Adam to Sharon.
For starters, Nick likes to save damsels in distress. Every soap has at least one character like that – and on Y&R, Nick’s the one who’s always playing rescue ranger. It’s just in Nick’s nature.
Plus, The Young and the Restless has been down this familiar comforting road with Nick and Chelsea before. They have history that could easily be repeated if Chelsea needs someone to lean on.
There’s also the fact that Nick would hate a reunion between Sharon and Adam. Nick would be on Chelsea’s side rooting against this. There would also be concerns about how Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) would take the news of his parents’ breakup.
Nick would certainly worry about Connor, who wanted Chelsea and Adam to be a couple.
Most importantly, Nick might battle guilt about giving Chelsea a nudge in Adam’s direction. Y&R fans will recall that Nick sweetly let Chelsea go. Nick felt like Adam was the man Chelsea really wanted, but he may regret pushing her to surrender to that desire.
Although Nick is with Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) now, we all know that relationship is bound to blow up sooner or later. Phyllis and Nick will inevitably face some obstacle that causes them to crumble.
It’d be interesting if Phyllis found herself in a situation similar to Summer Newman (Hunter King). Maybe Nick will feel drawn to Chelsea just like Kyle Abbott’s (Michael Mealor) still drawn to Lola Rosales (Sasha Calle). Like Summer, Phyllis might face insecurities over her man’s old connection with his ex.
Joshua Morrow is always enthusiastic about working with Melissa Claire Egan since they’re close friends in real life. We have no doubt that Morrow and Egan would both be down for a “Chick” reunion – or at least a hint of one to drive Phyllis over the edge!
