Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers tease that Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) will soon be back in action in Salem. As viewers know, Rafe has been gone ever since his dad Eduardo Hernandez (A Martinez) surfaced and told his son that their entire family was in grave danger from some of his “associates.”
Rafe promptly took off with Eduardo and Gabi DiMera (Camila Banus) for parts unknown, and they haven’t been heard from since.
Well, in the coming days, Rafe will return to Salem, finally free from living in hiding with his family. But Rafe will find that a lot in Salem has changed.
Rafe will have to face the hard fact that Ciara Weston (Victoria Konefal) died while he was away, and he’ll surely battle some serious guilt about that. Rafe will probably feel terribly that he wasn’t there for Hope Brady (Kristian Alfonso) when Ciara perished.
Rafe will probably have been completely out of touch with Hope, and so he may return to Salem thinking that Hope will be waiting for him to return and rekindle their romance.
As Days of Our Lives viewers will remember, right before Rafe left town with Eduardo and Gabi, he and Hope declared their feelings for each other and appeared to get back together.
Rafe may be expecting that Hope will be waiting for him back in Salem, but he’s going to be sorely disappointed. In fact, when Rafe returns, he’s not only going to learn about Ciara’s death, but he’ll learn that Hope is long gone and that she apparently has no plans to come back.
And since Rafe will need to be freed up for a future romance on the show, we could see Hope take steps to break things off with Rafe.
Might Rafe come home to find a letter from Hope, in much the same way that Jennifer Deveraux (Cady McClain) found her letter from Hope saying that Hope was gone?
Rafe might find a letter at his home indicating that Hope has left Salem and that she doesn’t want Rafe to wait for her. Or worse, Hope could be upset with Rafe over his not being around during the whole ordeal with Ciara’s death.
We’ll see what happens here, but TPTB are going to need a way for Rafe to move on with his life, and since Hope seems long gone, it would make sense for her to officially break things off with Rafe in a letter.
Of course, knowing Rafe, he’ll probably want to rush off and find Hope wherever she is and help with her quest to find out if Ciara somehow survived, but it looks like something will stop him.
