General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that ABC soap recently recast a major role, but they were awfully quiet about it! On the November 16 episode, GH fans were taken aback over a new face.
It was jarring to see a different actor being called Lucas out of the blue, but viewers quickly caught on and determined Ryan Carnes had been replaced as Lucas Jones.
Daytime Confidential confirms Matt Trudeau is the new Lucas – and it looks like he’ll be sticking around. Their sources indicate this isn’t a temporary recast situation, so it seems we’ll all just have to get used to Lucas’ new style!
There’s no doubt that Trudeau is handsome and talented, but it’s certainly a big change. Of course, many General Hospital viewers are wondering why Carnes was replaced, but it’s tough to imagine GH did it without a good reason.
Carnes was a fan favorite and a fine actor, so this obviously wasn’t about upgrading. It was probably just a matter of availability or Carnes wanting to pursue other projects. If Carnes makes a statement about his GH departure and fills fans in on what really went down, we’ll be sure to give you updates.
In the meantime, let’s talk about Trudeau and some of his acting credits. If Trudeau looks familiar, you might’ve seen him in roles on Chicago Fire, Blood Quantum, The Chicago Code and Detroit 1-8-7.
As for what else Trudeau has going on besides his GH role, he plays David in a new short film called Her Story. Trudeau can also be seen as Rowdy in Later Days, another film that’s currently in post-production.
General Hospital spoilers say Brad Cooper (Parry Shen) is set to get back in the action soon, so that explains the need for Lucas to be back in the action, too – even if it’s in the form of a new actor. As other GH news comes in, we’ll keep you posted.
