General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Cameron Webber (William Lipton) and Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) will have a mystery to solve as they cope with the loss of Dev Cerci aka “Dev Corbin” (Ashton Arbab).
GH viewers know Dev was about to confess his manipulation at The Floating Rib, but Danny Morgan (Porter Fasullo) distracted Cam and delayed that confession.
Of course, the explosion derailed Dev’s plan once again and ultimately claimed his life. However, Dev’s last words involved an apology to Josslyn. If Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) passes along Dev’s final “I’m sorry” like he wanted, Joss will have to ponder what Dev meant.
Josslyn’s first thought will inevitably be that this was about Dev’s recent outburst. Dev got way too pushy with Joss, who rejected his kiss and tried to let him down gently. That led to Dev’s tirade about Cameron being a tool along with some insults for Joss and Trina Robinson (Sydney Mikayla).
Naturally, none of that’ll matter to Joss once she learns Dev is dead. Josslyn will inevitably face a flood of memories and wish things had turned out different for Dev. She’ll probably hate that Dev died feeling like he’d let Joss down, but she won’t have the whole story.
Once Josslyn gets updates on Dev’s demise as well as the loss of Dustin Phillips (Mark Lawson), it could send Joss on the hunt for her old journal. After all, Dustin was the one who urged Joss to focus on journal writing as a way to cope.
Josslyn was grateful to Mr. Phillips as her teacher and a mentor when she needed his guidance.
Although Joss has the new journal Dev gave her, she might want to reflect on what she wrote in the old one – especially since all of this will stir up reminders of Oscar Nero Quartermaine (Garren Stitt). That could be clue number one if the journal’s nowhere to be found.
Cameron could also end up reflecting on how Dev had something he wanted to tell him before the explosion. Cam might realize it seemed important – and maybe Joss will realize Dev’s apology was more important that it seemed to. It could lead to Cameron and Josslyn determining that there’s a case to crack.
Trina could certainly get in on this as well and hopefully help the manipulated duo out. Joss is into Cam, but he doesn’t think she is due to Dev’s forged journal entry and all the lies he told. Dev also made Josslyn believe she didn’t have a shot with Cameron, who eventually decided to take a break from romantic relationships entirely.
Cameron and Josslyn just need a way to sort through the mess Dev has left behind. Will the clues eventually start adding up? Could Dev offer some sign from beyond the grave to bring Joss and Cam together?
Oscar had a couple appearances following his own death, so maybe that could be the case for Dev, too. We might see Dev seek some closure by pulling the strings in spirit form.
Then again, maybe the hints Josslyn, Cameron and Trina face will be enough. General Hospital spoilers say the truth will be revealed sooner or later, so Cam and Joss still have a chance at a shared future. As other GH news emerges, we’ll fill you in.
