The Young and the Restless Spoilers Update: Tuesday, December 8 – Sally’s Weapon – Adam Uses Victor’s Power - Theo Rejects Jack’s Offer

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers update for Tuesday, December 8, reveals that Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) has a plan to deal with Theo Vanderway (Tyler Johnson) and his lawsuit. Jack meets with Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor), Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland) and Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) to discuss the idea of a preemptive offer.

What Jack wants them to consider is a token to prevent a full-blown battle in the courtroom. Traci, Ashley and Kyle aren’t supportive of that plan. “We need to shut him down fast, hard and forever,” Kyle insists.

At Crimson Lights, Lauren wants to hit the ground running with JCV – and Summer Newman (Hunter King) has tons of ideas. After Summer reveals that she’s getting a presentation ready, Lauren is pleased.

Lauren was worried it might take Summer some time to settle in since she was so hesitant to take the job, but Summer feels like things are falling into place. That goes for Summer’s personal life with Kyle, too.

In The Grand Phoenix lobby, Theo wants the scoop from Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope). Sally says she overheard Jack talking to Kyle. She insists the Abbotts have no intention of giving Theo any of Dina’s estate and adds that they don’t think he has a “chance in hell” of winning.

Theo decides it’s game on. Sally points to their quid pro quo and wants the dirt on Summer that Theo promised her.

At the penthouse, Adam says he booked the last two tickets on the last flight out tonight, so Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) thinks that’s great news. Chelsea yells downstairs to assure Adam she’ll be down in a second.

Once Chelsea’s phone rings, Adam looks concerned when he sees that it’s Dr. Bradley calling.

After Adam takes the call, he thanks the doc and says they’ll be in touch. Chelsea comes down and wonders what that was about – and then wonders why Adam’s on her phone. Adam reveals that Dr. Bradley called and authorized him to fill him in on her medical info.

Adam received Chelsea’s test results and knows Chelsea lied about receiving updates earlier. All that matters to Chelsea is getting on that plane and out of Genoa City. Chelsea says she feels fine, but Adam insists she’s not fine – in fact, she’s far from it.

Adam notes that the CT scan revealed a small cerebral aneurysm. It either wasn’t there during Chelsea’s last exam or it was so small that it wasn’t detected. Adam argues that a clot of any size is dangerous. The blackout Chelsea had earlier wasn’t a fainting spell; it was a seizure.

Chelsea is in disbelief, so Adam says he knows this is hard to hear. However, Adam has confidence that they can tackle the challenge. “Now we know what this is and we can handle it,” Adam insists. “Together.”

At Newman Enterprises, Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) isn’t interested in rehashing more Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) drama. She’s rather cold as she suggests she’s got business to attend to. “Really, that’s how you dismiss your dad?” Victor says.

Victor argues that this is about business and brings up an article that praised Victoria’s leadership recently. He feels every word was true and thinks Victoria’s been preparing this since she was a child, so he’s very proud of her.

Victor assures Victoria that Adam will never diminish her power and isn’t a threat to her as CEO. All Victor wants is for Adam to get the help he needs. Victoria still seems uncertain that Adam will cut ties and walk away.

Victor doesn’t want to fight – and Victoria agrees it’s pointless. She knows Victor sees Adam a different way, so there’s no need to debate it again.

Victor feels like he’s failed his family sometimes and talks about the true meaning of family. He acknowledges all the times Victoria has pushed him to be more compassionate and understanding in the past.

Victor thanks it’s funny that he’s now standing there asking Victoria to do the same when it comes to Adam. “Think about it. Please,” Victor insists before he exits.

Back with Theo, he gripes about Sally not giving him anything he didn’t already know. Sally still expects Theo to keep his end of the bargain. She tells Theo not to even think about shortchanging her. “Is that a threat?” Theo asks.

“You think you know who you’re dealing with, but I promise you…you have no idea,” Sally warns.

Theo has no dirt, but he has something better: a weapon. “To be clear, I want Summer gone from JCV, not dead,” Sally insists. Theo clarifies that Kyle is Summer’s Achilles’ heel – her kryptonite.

To be more precise, Summer’s jealousy when it comes to Kyle is her weakness. If Summer thinks she’s on the brink of losing him, it’ll be easy to throw Summer off her game.

Back with Chelsea, she learns Dr. Bradley has referred them to a specialist. Chelsea wants the doctor to refer them to someone out of town and is prepared to leave tonight as planned. “What if your aneurysm bursts in the air?” Adam insists.

He warns that Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) needs Chelsea healthy and alive – and so does Adam. They have to stay and take care of this in GC.

At the Chancellor mansion, Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) has listened to Chelsea’s voicemail and isn’t sure it’s a good idea to see her before she leaves. She doesn’t know if she can pretend to be happy for Chelsea now that she’s reunited with Adam.

Kevin Fisher (Greg Rikaart) thinks it’s important for Chloe to see Chelsea in person. He feels like Chloe can possibly try to talk Chelsea out of reuniting with Adam one more time. If nothing else, Chloe can say a proper goodbye.

Next, Summer’s pitching a retro inspired collection to Lauren when Sally finally arrives. Lauren isn’t too happy since punctuality is critical, but Sally rattles off a list of things she did this morning. Lauren is taken aback since she forgot to tell Sally to do all that and thanks her for taking the initiative.

Brittany Hodges (Lauren Woodard) shows up to see Theo and is ready to do battle for him. She advises Theo to lose the scowl since he needs to exude confidence. Back with the Abbotts, they’re still debating Jack’s idea of making an offer. “I don’t think he should get a thing,” Ashley says. “It’s the principle.”

Traci suggests putting it to a vote, but Ashley argues that it needs to be unanimous. Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) assured Ashley that she’d go along with whatever they decided. Once it’s time for the vote, only Jack raises his hand.

At the penthouse again, Chelsea’s specialist is booked solid. “Hi, this is Chelsea’s fiancé, Adam Newman,” Adam says on speakerphone. The receptionist asks if there’s any relation to Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) – clearly a bit fearful of Vic’s power.

They manage to squeeze Chelsea in, so Adam says the last name is still good for something.

Adam promises they can leave town as soon as Chelsea is cleared for travel. Once Chloe texts, Chelsea announces that she wants to go clear the air. Adam wants to drive Chelsea, so they joke about him being a control freak and wanting to bubble-wrap her.

Next, it seems Jack has convinced the others to move forward with the offer off screen. Richard Emerson is the family’s attorney, who informs Theo and Brittany about a boutique company in Paris that the Abbotts are willing to part with.

Theo’s looking at a substantial net profit without lifting a finger. When Richard wonders how that sounds, Theo says it’s a start.

Jack argues that this is the only proposal they’re going to make. “You can’t possibly need any more money!” Theo declares. Brittany makes a case for why Theo should get something more substantial. Kyle has a major outburst and insists Dina had more meaningful relationships with her nurses.

Richard argues that if this isn’t acceptable, then a judge can decide. Brittany guesses they’ll see them in court then. Jack decides he wants to speak with Theo alone.

“Suppose we cut the crap here,” Jack says in private. He wants to know what Theo’s trying to accomplish or “what the hell” he’s trying to prove.

At Society, Victoria isn’t surprised to hear that Adam won’t be leaving town immediately. Adam alludes to unfinished business with Chelsea, so they can’t leave just yet. Victoria grills Adam, but he doesn’t want to share the details.

Victoria knew there’d be some stunt Adam would pull. She rants about Adam being a pathological liar who’s a threat to everyone around him, including Connor. Adam warns not to talk about his son.

Victoria doesn’t buy that this plan to start over as a family will pan out; she feels like Adam will always put Connor’s emotional well-being at risk.

At the Chancellor mansion, Chloe suggests bringing Miles Fisher into her discussion with Chelsea as a buffer. Chelsea would love that since she could use some sunshine in her life right about now. Once Chelsea holds Miles, she reveals her cerebral aneurysm and stuns Chloe.

Chelsea admits she’s staying until they know more, so Chloe wants Adam to leave town by himself. “I love him. I need him…because I’m scared,” Chelsea says. Chloe assures Chelsea she won’t be alone and wants Chelsea to accept her help.

Once Chelsea returns home, Adam talks about ordering food from Society and how they can discuss Connor’s Christmas presents. Chelsea thanks Adam for reminding them what a great team they are. She assures Adam that they’re going to get through this.

After Lauren steps away from the chat at the coffeehouse, Sally once again offers her help and connections to Summer. Summer doesn’t want to share her ideas yet and thinks Sally should focus on helping Lauren.

Sally doesn’t believe Summer gets how busy she’ll be with JCV, but Summer claims she can manage.

Nevertheless, Sally argues that she already views herself as a liaison of sorts. She can be a go-between for Lauren when it comes to Jack…and Kyle. Summer looks a bit rattled by Sally’s comments in Tuesday’s Y&R episode.

At the Abbott mansion, Jack rants about all the warning signs he ignored because he thought he had a connection with Theo. He feels like Theo has no respect for their family’s grief. Theo insists he’s grieving the loss of Dina, too. Jack rants about Theo going straight from the will reading and then hiring an attorney.

“This is lazy! This is cheap!” Jack protests in Tuesday’s Young and the Restless episode. Anyone with any decency or common sense would realize this is generous. The offer is off the table until 4:00 p.m. tomorrow.

That lawyer is just the tip of the iceberg according to Jack. He’ll hire 10 more if necessary and intends to eviscerate Theo in the courtroom.

“Listen to me, you cannot win this fight,” Jack insists. When the day comes that Theo looks back on this, Jack feels Theo will remember it as the moment he lost everything.

The Young and the Restless spoilers say Theo’s war with the Abbotts will press on, so stay tuned to Y&R. CDL will have lots of other sizzling Young and the Restless spoilers, updates and news to read up on, so stop by again soon.
