General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Wednesday, March 31, reveals that Molly Lansing-Davis (Haley Pullos) was frustrated over being late to court due to a final. Molly was worried since Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) could get 20 years in prison, but TJ Ashford (Tajh Bellow) insisted it wouldn’t be that bad.
TJ was right by Molly’s side to help her face whatever was ahead for her mother.
Inside the courtroom, Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) spoke on the stand about how he didn’t believe Alexis intended to assault him. Dante insisted that Alexis’ judgment was impaired and that he’d forgiven her.
Dante asked the court for leniency since alcoholism is a disease and that substance abuse problems should be treated rather than punished.
On Wednesday’s General Hospital episode, Alexis also gave an allocution about how she could no longer practice law, but she still respected it. Alexis insisted she was prepared to accept her punishment and was deeply sorry. She never wanted to hurt her children or anyone else again.
Once the judge took a short break to determine Alexis’ sentence, Diane Miller (Carolyn Hennesy) praised Alexis since she always was a “hell of a closer.” Alexis felt it was in the judge’s hands now.
Later, the judge came back and threw out the attempted murder charge related to Franco Baldwin (Roger Howarth).
That still left aggravated assault, which the judge sentenced Alexis to three years in Pentonville for. Alexis was given seven days to get her affairs in order before she had to report for the beginning of that sentence.
After court was adjourned, Diane was relieved and admitted things went better than she had hoped. Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) was still upset about her mom going to prison – and Molly didn’t know what they’d do without Alexis for that long.
However, Alexis felt she’d get out in two and a half years due to early parole. She also intended to make the most of this last week with her daughters.
Over with Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) and Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright), they discussed how Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) would play the part of Gladys Corbin’s (Bonnie Burroughs) “knight in tarnished armor.”
Carly assured Anna she’d stick to the plan and wouldn’t make trouble by improvising.
As Carly was leaving, Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers) showed up and looked intrigued by the team in front of him. Carly headed to the Metro Court while Anna talked to Robert about Peter August (Wes Ramsey) being Franco’s true murderer.
Anna told Robert about her plan with Carly – and Robert noted that Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) was cooking up one of her own to handle Peter.
There were concerns since leaving Maxie out of the loop on Anna and Carly’s plan might offer more protection. At the same time, leaving Maxie in the dark could lead her to believe she had to handle Peter on her own and put her in more danger.
On Wednesday’s GH episode, Robert thought it’d be great to take Peter and Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) down on a conspiracy charge. Anna was hoping Valentin could help get the evidence to link Gladys to Peter and Cyrus.
At home, Maxie offered updates to Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) on what she felt was the best way to deal with Peter. Maxie knew she had to protect her daughter, so she insisted this baby had to disappear.
Britt was confused about exactly what Maxie meant, so Maxie explained that Peter needed to believe the baby was stillborn.
Maxie wanted Britt’s help, but Britt had plenty of reasons why this wouldn’t work. She didn’t want to risk her medical license again, but Maxie insisted her baby had to come first.
Britt argued that even if she pitched in, Peter wouldn’t believe her if she came out with tears in her eyes and revealed his baby was dead.
Maxie remained confident this plan would work and suggested she’d send the baby out of town to someone she trusted. After a few weeks, Maxie felt she could claim the grief was too much to bear and leave town to start a new life for herself with her children.
Once Peter was arrested, Maxie thought she could come back and explain everything to her loved ones.
Britt didn’t think obsessed Peter would let Maxie out of his life that easily. She felt Maxie would have to stay in Port Charles until Peter was apprehended, which would leave Maxie to play the role of loving, grieving partner. Britt wondered just how far Maxie was willing to go with Peter.
At Jordan Ashford’s (Briana Nicole Henry) place, Marcus Taggert (Real Andrews) offered to give Jordan and Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) privacy by going to his room. The fact that Taggert had a room at all surprised Curtis, but Jordan explained the whole bail situation.
Taggert was grateful to Jordan – and to Curtis once Jordan piped up about Curtis helping Trina Robinson (Sydney Mikayla) forgive her father. Taggert also apologized to Curtis for any problems he caused in Jordan’s marriage due to his faked death.
Curtis seemed irritated as he agreed with Taggert about what a dedicated cop Jordan was.
Curtis also wasn’t interested in helping out with the Cyrus case since he was leaving the PI life behind, which surprised Taggert. After Taggert went in the hall to grab the food delivery, Jordan wondered why Curtis had stopped by.
Curtis claimed it wasn’t important and turned down Taggert’s offer to eat with them before leaving.
At the Metro Court, Valentin and Peter had another tense confrontation. Peter wanted Valentin to butt out of his life, but Valentin felt Peter needed to take responsibility for his actions. He argued that perhaps prison was the only way Peter could be the father his child deserved.
Carly eventually arrived, so it was showtime with Gladys. After Carly went on a lengthy rant about what a lying, greedy bottom feeder Gladys was, Valentin piped up to insist that was enough. He defended Gladys and felt Carly shouldn’t be talking to her patrons like that.
On the elevator, Valentin continued to charm Gladys and offered to take her out for a drink. Gladys was on board and loved the fancy evening. She was glad Valentin wasn’t buying the act Carly sells to everyone else.
Valentin fished for information about Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober), so Gladys talked about how Brando Corbin (Johnny Wactor) knows a good thing when he sees it – and so did Gladys. She felt that with Mr. Renault, they would go far.
Gladys wasn’t sure how long she’d be in town for since she was a witness in Jason’s case, so Valentin suggested a lot of people in her position would be nervous. Gladys insisted that she knew what she saw and that Jason was getting what he deserves.
Gladys was further charmed when Valentin offered to take her home since he was being such a true gentleman. Gladys thought Valentin was a real class act.
Back with Carly, she cornered Peter and had a heated exchange with him. Carly felt like Peter published tabloid trash and hinted that she knew a lot of the people who ran ads. She implied that she could convince them it wasn’t a good idea to do business with Peter.
Carly acted like Peter wouldn’t have much luck keeping his Invader office space either. Peter warned Carly that she should be careful with Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) gone and Jason behind bars. Despite her grandstanding, Peter felt Carly was all alone in a sea of predators.
Carly fired back not to tell her she couldn’t protect her family. She insisted no one was getting the better of her – least of all Peter. Peter wondered if Carly was sure about that as they had a stare-down.
