Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers reveal that Paulina Price (Jackée Harry) is keeping a major secret that’ll come to light down the road. Let’s consider the clues DOOL has offered so far and try to figure out where this hot plot is headed.
Lani Price-Grant (Sal Stowers) has told stories about the lavish gifts Paulina tried to give her as a child, but her mom, Tamara Price (Marilyn McCoo), refused most of them. However, there may have been more to it than pride or not wanting Lani to be spoiled.
Lani has also talked about how Paulina tends to just blow in and out of her life – even after years apart. Paulina has a history of not being very reliable despite the obvious love she has for Lani.
We know that Paulina spent most of her adult life focusing on her career. Chanel Dupree (Precious Way) complained about all the daycare and nannies, but Paulina felt like she had to work hard and provide for Chanel. That meant being away from her daughter more than she would like.
With all this in mind, could Paulina actually be Lani’s biological mother? What if unreliable Paulina handed her baby girl over to her older sister to raise? Days of Our Lives spoilers suggest that would explain why Tamara wasn’t keen on accepting the gifts.
Tamara wouldn’t have wanted Paulina coming back into the picture thinking she could just reclaim her daughter. At that point, Tamara would’ve been attached to Lani and would’ve wanted to shut Paulina out somewhat.
That’s especially true since it’s been established Paulina doesn’t stay put and concentrate on her family for long. Paulina may not have felt ready to be a mom, particularly since she wanted to focus on her career. Maybe Tamara just passed the baby off as her own after Paulina gave birth.
By the time Chanel came along, Paulina would’ve had more money to care for her – hence the daycare and nannies. Paulina was at a different stage of her life and more equipped to take on a child than when Lani was born.
Perhaps when Paulina leaned down to tell the twins that mysterious secret, she told them she was actually their grandma! Paulina has been extremely generous, so it explains a lot if she’s actually Lani’s bio mom.
Lani offered a new clue in the dialogue recently as well. When Lani was ranting about how Chanel made her bed and would have to lie in it, Chanel insisted Lani shouldn’t quote her mother to her. Lani replied that she was actually quoting HER mother.
Although Lani meant Tamara, maybe that was Days of Our Lives writers’ way of connecting the dots. It could’ve been a huge hint that Lani’s mother and Chanel’s mother are the same woman. Of course, that woman would be Paulina.
We have to acknowledge this could mean Abe Carver (James Reynolds) isn’t really Lani’s biological father. It’s possible Abe hooked up with Paulina once upon a time and doesn’t recall it, but Days has played it like Abe and Paulina first met just recently.
Just imagine how stunned Lani will be if all her Days of Our Lives family connections go topsy-turvy.
This could make a real mess of Lani’s family tree since Tamara would be her aunt, Paulina would be her mom and Chanel would be her sister. Meanwhile, Abe and Theo Carver (Cameron Johnson) may not be related to Lani after all.
On the bright side, this would give Lani, Abe, Paulina and everyone connected to them a juicy storyline to work with. Days of Our Lives spoilers say Paulina’s secret will definitely shake things up once she hits Salem again, so we’ll offer updates as other Days news rolls in.
